BATMAN: HUSH Animated Movie Voice Cast Reportedly Revealed But There Are Some Big Omissions

A new report claims to reveal the full cast list for the upcoming animated adaptation of Jeph Loeb and Jim Lee's "Hush" but there are two names missing which could very well end up upsetting fans...

Warner Bros. Animation has a lot of very exciting DC Comics adaptations on the way in 2019 but perhaps the most exciting is "Hush." The comic book version of the now iconic storyline pitted Batman against almost each and every one of his greatest foes, introduced a new bad guy, and ended with a killer twist.

Now, the movie's voice cast has reportedly been revealed and while we don't know who is playing who, it's said that it will be led by Jason O'Mara, Jerry O'Connell, Tara Strong, Rainn Wilson, Bruce Thomas and Vanessa Williams.

O'Mara has voiced Batman a number of times in the past, while O'Connell is known for starring as Superman. Strong, meanwhile, is most closely associated with Harley Quinn.

Notable by their absence is Kevin Conroy and Mark Hamill, the most famous voices of Batman and The Joker. Both actors have said that they would like to star in an adaptation of "Hush" and it's fair to say that fans probably would have chosen them to take on the roles again here.

Unfortunately, it doesn't seem like that's happening so we'll just have to wait and see how things pan out with the movie now. Are you guys still excited? Share your thoughts on that down below.

But...this is part of the new animated universe they have. Why would anyone be upset that people that have had nothing to do with this franchise have nothing to do with this movie? So much clickbait.

@Origame - This guy turns an artbook into a month of material, but I kind of think this is newsworthy. It may seem obvious to the very well informed, but I hadn't thought about it. So it was news to me. I didn't know it was taking place in the DCAU canon and not just a one shot.

@GratefulBat - you dont even need that. Conroy and hamill havent been in that many batman properties lately. They're very on again off again with this and you can just be a member of the general audience to point out will Arnett as someone who voices batman. Would you say that it would be news worthy to say that will arnett isnt voicing batman in this movie?

And it doesnt matter if its a one shot or not. I can point out several one shots without conroy.

@Origame - You make a decent point, but Hamill and Conroy have expressed their interest in the project. And dude, Conroy and Arnett don't really have the same territory (obv). Newsworthy is quite subjective I suppose, that seems to be the issue here.

@GratefulBat - just because they express interest in doing it doesnt mean that its newsworthy that they arent involved. If they were that would be one thing.

And if you mean same territory like arnett is voicing the comedic take then yes you'd be right, but in terms of who the general audience considers the animated batman now, thats arnett.

@Origame - Animated. Here is another word that us hard to pin a meaning down on.

@GratefulBat - ...not really. Pictures other than photographs that are presented as moving. Its pretty straight forward.

These aren't notable absences. We all knew that this movie would take place in the DC's shared animated universe. This is like the 15th movie in this universe and Mark Hamill and Kevin Conroy have not contributed voices to this universe of movies. They've done the one-shot films like The Killing Joke or Harley Quinn but those don't fit in this universe.

I used to defend your articles, Josh. But this is click-bait dude.

@Earthbound - I agree with your point, although Conroy did play Deathstroke in Son of Batman.

@Kurban - Incorrect. Thomas Gibson played Deathstroke in that movie. Conroy's not in it at all.

@MOVIELORD101 - What a random claim!

@GratefulBat - It's not a random claim. I looked up via Wikipedia.

Conroy and Hamill aren’t getting any younger. And it seemed they both sleepwalked through Killing Joke.

I like this DoS cast. Hush should be good.

@regularmovieguy - Hamill especially can't do the Joker voice like he used to. Sounds like he's gargling pebbles.

@PorgCipher

What a misfire that was. One of the most iconic stories in Batman canon and they [frick]ed it up royally.

Wait another 10 years and try it again 🤦🏼‍♂️

@PorgCipher

A short, 30-40 minute quality budget film would be the way to go.

Dude has a Joker look to him.

@PorgCipher - Troy Baker is an everyman voice actor.

It's always nice to hear Conroy and Hamill, but they won't be around forever. It's good to give others a chance to create memorable performances. I haven't seen many of the recent DC animated films, but I liked the actors they chose for Year One and Under the Red Hood.

Damn, Jason O'Mara means it's set in DCAU's New 52 universe. I was kinda hoping it was a one-off like Under the Red Hood. Bring back Bruce Greenwood as Batman! I loved the way he delivered this monologue.

@RageDriver2401 - I love that scene, but that Batman having a country accent just throws me off.

I actually really enjoy O'Mara as Batman. Dont get me wrong, Conroy is the man and the voice I automatically put with Batman. I'm just good with letting this new guard of voices take the ball and run with it.

Just be good.

Also, the most underrated Batman voice actor is Jeremy Sisto.

Bring him back

Was Sisto one and done?

Jason O'Mara is probably the worst Batman voice. Not sure why they keep casting him...

Get Michael Keaton to do the voice of Batman.
