During the Gods and Monsters panel at San Diego Comic-Con 2015, Bruce Timm stated he had begun voice recordings for an unnamed project with iconic voice actress Tara Strong, who has voiced the character in the Arkham City video games. This news came about before news broke that The Killing Joke was being adapted as an animated film. She also could be voicing Barbara Gordon, who is a big part of the graphic novel. Strong has also voiced Barbara in The New Batman Adventures.

It's very plausible that Strong will be voicing Harley or Barbara in this adaptation (although Harley Quinn never appears in the graphic novel). Seems they may be taking liberties with the story, if only slightly. It would be a welcomed addition if she does appear and would give a different spin on the comic arc.

What do you think? Do you believe Tara Strong will be Harley Quinn in The Killing Joke? Sound off below!

Batman: The Killing Joke is set to be released in 2016. Directed by Sam Liu and executive produced by Bruce Timm, it will adapt the graphic novel of the same name by Alan Moore.

I'd prefer Arleen Sorkin. Because why change that up. If Mark and Kevin will be coming back, why can't Arleen too?

@VisionaryNPA - I was just confused as to why you would assume Harley, when she did Batgirl for the Timm verse and this is a Timm film with Barbra playing a major role

@BlackIceJoe

Although I don't think she's outright said it, it seems like Sorkin is retired from Harley. She hasn't voiced the character since Arkham Asylum.

please NO Harley, they could put her in the animated The Dark Knight Returns instead of Bruno or something, but they stuck to the material!

Joker AND Harley can survive without each other!

They shouldn't censor it because that stuff just adds to the insanity and evil-ness of the Joker.

I still don't know how I feel about this being made, since the ending is ambiguous and left to the reader's interpretation. I don't know how they're gonna achieve that same kind of ending in a movie. Regardless, it's gonna be incredible to hear Mark Hamil sing the Looney Song!

@PlasmaSnake
Alot of people(feminists) want DC to either drop or censor The Killing Joke because of what the Joker does to Barbara.

There's a Buzzfeed article and everything demanding DC drop it.

That's f ucking ridiculous! It's like all the whiners complaining about Ramsay Snow raping Sansa.....HE'S RAMSAY SNOW! It would be more out of character if he bought her flowers, and cooked her dinner.

Same with the Joker, he's the Joker...I don't really need to carry on do I?
