FAN-ticizing: Ten directors who should be considered to direct the next Batman film.

FAN-ticizing: Ten directors who should be considered to direct the next Batman film.

After of the retirement of Christopher Nolan of his Batman's Stories, soon the Warner Bros. will turn on the Bat-Signal to search someone to directing the Caped Crusader in the Theaters again. So who can be this person?

After of the possible conclusion of the Nolan’s Batman Trilogy, the Warner Bros. needs of a new director able to create one new Batman’s universe in the theaters. This hard mission is complicated principally because of the extraordinary and iconic work done by Chris Nolan in his three films about the hero.
So I listed ten directors who I believe would replace Nolan in this amazing work. In the alphabetical order, these directors are:

Ben Affleck

Ben Affleck has shown himself as a good director lately. I didn't see his new film as director yet, but the cinematographic critic has been positive about this. I already watched The Town (2010) and I really liked of the film. I believe that Affleck would be a good choice as director of the Batman's new film. But only like director, not as the main character... Please!

Notable works: Argo (2012), The Town (2010) and Gone Baby Gone (2007)

Coen brothers

Ethan and Joel Coen are great directors. I liked of their version of True Grit (2010) and No Country for Old Men (2007). I believe that they would bring good ideas to the Batman's world. They have a great ability to adapt of stories; maybe it will be fundamental to create a new version of the Gotham's Knight according with the Justice League's universe.

Notable works: Fargo (1996), The Big Lebowski (1998), No Country for Old Men (2007), True Grit (2010)

Darren Aronofsky

Darren Aronofsky is my first favorite choice to bring Gotham City alive again. I already watched all of his films and I really his Directing style principally the Hip Hop Montage. I would like to see Darren Aronofsky using this film technique in the Batman’s films.
Aronofsky was hired by the Warner Bros. to write and direct Batman: Year One, which was to be the fifth film in the Batman franchise. After that project failed to develop, Aronofsky declined.
So I believe that he needs of a new opportunity to direct Batman in the theaters.
Notable works: Pi (1998), Requiem for a Dream (2000), The Fountain (2006), The Wrestler (2008) and Black Swan (2010)

David Cronenberg

David Cronenberg is a good director and would be a good choice to direct the new film of The Caped Crusader. I really like A History of Violence (2005), Eastern Promises (2007) and The Fly (1986). Cronenberg have the ability to join the psychological of his characters with the physical, that could be good to a new universe of Batman, principally to the villains. However, I would fear that the Cronenberg's version take the way like the Joel Schumacher's.
But I would like to see one version of The Joker, Two-Face, The Killer Moth, Clayface and The Penguin by David Cronenberg.

Notable works: The Fly (1986), A History of Violence (2005) and Eastern Promises (2007)

David Fincher

He is my third favorite choice to direct this film principally because he liked to direct dark and stylish thrillers as the Batman’s universe. I already watched a good number of his films and I've read in a cinematographic review of one Brazilian blog that "Fincher has one kind of passion to solitary beings and the main characters of his films tend to be oblivious to the world that usually fight alone against the 'system'. "
I believe that this thought it's the true reason because I believe that Fincher is excellent to direct the stories of Batman in the big screen because Batman is one of these solitary beings that resolved to fight against one world what took out something that he can't buy back.
I would like to see Rooney Mara wearing as Batgirl/Barbara Gordon too.

Notable works:Alien 3 (1992), Seven (1995), Fight Club (1999), Zodiac (2007), The Curious Case of Benjamin Button (2008), The Social Network (2010) and The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo (2011)

Kathryn Bigelow

Kathryn Bigelow has already said to The Guardian in 2009 that she is "drawn to provocative characters". I believe that she's one different name to direct the Dark Knight's tales in the big screen. She can bring something new to this hero. I like the way that she uses the slow motion to help the spectator participate in the scene, but she doesn't use a lot of unnecessary times like Zack Snyder does. But this thought will be discussed soon...

Notable works: Point Break (1991), Strange Days (1995) and The Hurt Locker (2008)

Michael Mann

Finally I will talk about my second favorite choice to bring Batman back to the theaters. Michael Mann was considered one of most innovative directors and he has something that I would like to see in Batman's universe: He has a very characteristic style of filming because he bring one documentary tone to his stories.
Mann could bring the crime genre to the Batman's stories because this is the favorite genre of Mann that works with obsessive characters in their activities like Batman. So Michael can explore the police side of the hero.

Notable works: The Last of the Mohicans (1992), Heat (1995), The Insider (1999), Ali (2001), Collateral (2004), Miami Vice (2006) and Public Enemies (2009)

Pierre Morel

The French film director can bring his action style for the hero's tales. I really like of Taken (2009), District 13 (2004) and From Paris with Love (2010). If the new Batman film will be focused in the action and jugglery scenes like parkour, Morel is the name to the director's chair, principally because of the notable use of the parkour art in a number of stunt sequences at his films.

Notable works: District 13 (2004), Taken (2009) and From Paris with Love (2010)

Sam Mendes

Another big name to replace Christopher Nolan at the directing of the Batman film is Sam Mendes. His acclaimed work in the James Bond movie Skyfall (2012) could give him the opportunity to direct one film of the Gotham's hero that has a lot of similarities with the British agent. I really like of Jarhead (2005) and Road to Perdition (2002). I believe that Mendes could make the spy agent side of Batman.

Notable works: American Beauty (1999), Road to Perdition (2002), Jarhead (2005), Skyfall (2012)

Zack Snyder

The last name in my list is Zack Snyder. Of course, I bet that you are thinking "But Snyder is the director of Man of Steel". I know it but recently I heard rumors that Snyder could be the responsible by the Justice League's movie so I think that maybe Snyder could be the director of Batman too principally if Warner Bros. wants to join Batman and Superman in the same film. But I really fear the unnecessary use of slow motion by Snyder and I really hope that he has not done this in Man of Steel.
I think that Zack Snyder can't be the director of Flash's film because if it happens the film will be about one ordinary man since he does the unnecessary use of the slow motion.
However, I really would like to see Batman screaming "THIS IS GOTHAM!".

Notable works: Dawn of the Dead (2004), 300 (2007), Watchmen (2009), Sucker Punch (2011) and Man of Steel (2013)

I second the Bruce Timm nomination

I also vote Bruce Timm.

Frankly, I just want Bruce Timm and Paul Dini involved in the making of the DCCU SOMEHOW. Their animated universe still stands as the best thing to happen to DC comics.

I also (and perhaps this'll make me look like a dick) have to wonder whether this article is a troll or not. The writing was unreadable at points (could be that english isn't your first language), some of the choices were hilarious, and given the fact that Cronenberg has been a very vocal asshole about comic-book movies as of late; his inclusion on this list made me suspect that this is all a joke.

You have one director who HATEs superheroes up there in Cornberg. You have two who have said they'd rather not director a superhero movie in Affleck and Fincher, and you have two other directors who're directing, or a scheduled to direct, other superhero movies in Snyder and Bigelow (Wonder Woman).

The only reasonable choice when you eliminate most of these director is Darren Arronofsky.

Medez is working on Bond, he won't have time to do both.

Obviously you haven't seen what Darren aronofsky had in store for Batman. Look up his ideas. Unless you hate Batman and want his movie to fail then get that rap off of this list!
