Gary Oldman Looks Back On Commissioner Gordon Role; TDKR "Will Go Out With A Bang"

"It's been seven years, maybe more since we did the first one. You miss the people, there's a loyalty to Chris and there's a lot of people that work with him all the time," he told Digital Spy in the video interview below. "Actors do come and go, but apart from the mainstays of Michael [Caine], Morgan [Freeman] and Christian [Bale] the crew is the same, from the caterers to the camera operator."

"It's like reuniting with a family, that was sad, I miss that. We will go out with a bang, I'm sworn to secrecy but it's a great story. An epic conclusion." While everyone involved with the movie has so far promised that The Dark Knight Rises will end in an "epic" fashion, the question now is whether or not it will indeed live up to the high fan expectations. Judging by the recently released trailer, it's fair to say that the answer to that is already clear. Sound off with your thoughts below.

Second favorite actor... He just dissolves into each of his roles. One of my inspirations for wanting to be an actor!

Anyway, I'll stop the brown nosing now and just say, The Dark Knight Rises.... TO THE TOP OF THE BOX OFFICE!

Or whatever it means to be extremely successful. Lol

Gary Oldman's the man!

@Intruder there's no way in hell this movie will be a box office bomb. Sure, it may deviate from the comics somewhat, but most of the cinema going audience don't give a shit about comics anyway. The Dark Knight is currently in the Top 10 highest grossing films of all time, and was a major critical success too. Based on that alone, as well as all the hype around it, this film is sure to at least come close to earning that kind of cash, meaning it will in no way be a bomb. I'm not saying that as a Nolan fan, or a Batman fan, I'm saying that as a movie fan, and one with enough sense to see how these things work.

Having said that, I'm still very much on the fence about this film. I know it'll be a good film, based on Nolan's track record and the cast, but as a Batman fan... some of the changes that it seems Chris Nolan is making are quite worrying. I really hope that Bane does use Venom in at least some way shape or form, and at least gets some form of physical enhancement from it.

I heard he also loved Green Lantern:p

@acira, he is not going to use venom, its some gas to kill the pain from the accident he was in or something like that. Which makes a better villian. If bane used some steroids to get huge, that just isn't as interesting. Works fine in the comics, not on film imo.

Do you think Nolan is working on some kind of twist? Like maybe Wayne "dying" and becoming Ras, or something even trippier.
PaulRom

Grif also likes Clash Of The Titans apparently.

AC1
AC1 - 12/21/2011, 4:35 PM
@40oz well yeah, I don't mean some sort of super steroid that will make him a giant like in the comics, but I mean something that just gives him an extra edge, maybe a small boost for his physical strength or some kind of adrenaline that makes him a lot harder to defeat. Just a little something to make him more of a threat to Batman. We all know about the pain killer gas, but I'm hoping Nolan's got a little extra surprise for us, something we'll only find out about when we see the film.
