Even since the New 52 started, one of DC's best books has been their main
Batman book. Not just because it's focus on
Batman but thanks to writer Scott Snyder and artist Greg Capullo. Their collaboration, and eventually bromance, on
Batman has shown in the pages of the comics. From their story arcs which included
Court of Owls,
Death of the Family,
Zero Year,
Endgame, and currently
Superheavy; they've proved to deliver. At NYCC, Scott Snyder revealed Greg will be taking a short break from
Batman. Snyder said
"Greg is going to take a break after Batman #51. It's going to be very short. He and I have known this for some time. He's going to do a short project with Mark Millar. I'm going to stay on Batman. When you work with someone for a long time, the best thing about comics is the collaborative nature of it."
The biggest takeaway for me is the fact that Snyder and Capullo's Batman contract ended at issue 50. The fact Snyder will be working on 51 and beyond and Capullo will be returning confirms that they won't be leaving Batman anytime soon. What are your thoughts? Are you happy that while Capullo will be briefly gone, he and Snyder will be staying on
Batman? What artist do you hope will be replacing Capullo in his abstance? Are you interested in Capullo's project with Mark Millar? Comment below, let me know. Peace and remember...
