Warner Bros. has released the final trailer for Joker, and it features plenty of amazing new footage and some noteworthy reveals. Shedding more light on Arthur Fleck's transformation into Gotham City's Clown Prince of Crime, it's beginning to get easier and easier to see why there's already Oscar buzz surrounding the DC Comics adaptation.

The movie doesn't appear to be adhering to the comic books in any way, but there's never been a definitive origin story for The Joker, so it almost doesn't matter that this movie will deliver something new.

However, some comic book fans are bound to be disappointed that this Joker is just a crazy guy in make-up as opposed to someone who went through what his comic book counterpart did (including his storied history with Batman). Despite all of that, it's hard not to get excited about what we see here, and it will be very interesting to see what critics make of it at the Venice Film Festival.

I wonder how fans will react to a film that isn't part of the DCEU? Then again the DCEU is pretty much dead at this point. Kind of sad that if this film is as great as it seems we won't be getting any sequels. Insider talks have said that Joaquin Phoenix has refused to do any future films beyond this one and has turned down several monetary benefits that were already offered to him.

They are literally remaking King of Comedy, just like they remade Nighthawks with TDK. I don't know if it's clever or just numbingly derivative.

@mastakilla39 - Hmmm . . . it doesn't seem dead to me if there are fans lol.

@mastakilla39 - I'm pretty sure if this movie is both a critically and financially success, they're gonna use this as a jumping off point for their new DCEU.

@Himura - I highly doubt it. You thought there was complaining about comic inaccuracies in the DCEU before, try having 30 yr old Batman squaring off against a 70 yr old Joker.

@BlackBeltJones - Not a sentiment shared by most people if you take into account his usual box office hauls.

I can't believe this is shot by Lawrence Sher, cinematographer of The Hangover 3. The cinematography looks really good, wtf haha

It's looking really good, but it will all fall on how well they've written his descent into madness. Really looking forward to this!

He’s done better than Jared Leto by creating a Joker that actually scares me. I mean, this Joker is creepy.

Its obvious there's nothing very "comic book" about this but just as a movie it looks incredible. The Joker aspect def pulls people in, but I wonder if this could've worked as an original story about a damaged individual who doesn't use Joker iconography. Its b basically The King of Comedy but if it took place in Gotham City.

Looks good.

Absolutely stunning. I've learned to respect it for being it's own thing and in doing that it's killing it in each trailer. Looks to be one of the top tier cbms of 2019
