Warner Bros. is still hard at work on Joker in New York City and this new batch of set photos once again shows Joaquin Phoenix wearing the clown gear which seemingly inspires him to suit up as the villainous Clown Prince of Crime.
We recently learned that Arthur Fleck is dressed like this because he's one of those people on the street holding a "SALE" sign but what on Earth's could he be running from here?
That's hard to say, but he no doubt hates doing such a demeaning job given what he dreams of doing. After all, it's a far cry from his aspirations to become a stand up comic and will surely play a huge role in pushing him over the edge and transforming him into one of Gotham City's worst nightmares.
With shooting still underway in New York City, it remains to be seen how much longer we'll have to wait until we get more than just some promo shots from director Todd Phillips on Instagram. What do you guys think of this new look at Phoenix as The Joker? Weigh in with your thoughts down below.
Joker centers around the iconic arch nemesis and is an original, standalone story not seen before on the big screen. Todd Phillips’ exploration of Arthur Fleck (Joaquin Phoenix), a man disregarded by society, is not only a gritty character study, but also a broader cautionary tale.
Joker is set to be released on October 4th, 2019.
