More From Christian Bale On The Chances Of A Sequel To The Dark Knight Rises!

The actor says that this will more than likely be his last film as Batman, but seems to reveal that he's waiting to hear from Chris Nolan about the chances of a fourth movie and comments on working with the director...

There's no clear transcript for the following video interview, but both E! Online and Shokya have two versions which are possibly either from this footage or perhaps even another. Check them out, along with the video, below:

"The thing is that this will be, I believe, unless Chris says different, this will be the last time I'm playing Batman."

Shockya meanwhile have another transcript of an interview with the actor where he apparently talks about Batman 4. Part of the transcript is similar to the video above, but unless they've paraphrased the whole thing, this might be from another interview.

"Until Chris Nolan tells me there will be a Batman 4, I don't believe it. It's gotta be from his mouth, or else I don't really know."

"Chris will let me know what I need to know when I need to know it. I probably know a little bit more than some other people out there, but I think most people would be surprised at how little I do know. It just hasn't been necessary yet. I know he'll give me plenty of time to prepare for whatever I need to, and I'll discover it. He's a pretty damn good filmmaker. I trust that he's going to come up with something wonderful."

The Dark Knight Rises will be released on July 3, 2012!

I bet if NOLAN could direct another crazy [frick]ing awesome movie - like INCEPTION - AFTER the releasing of TDKR he could possilby make an epic 4th Batman movie until 2015.

Hey, i'll take 'em if they bring 'em. But to tell you the truth, i'd really like to see Snyder tackle The Dark Knight Returns with Bruce Willis after he's done with Man of Steel. Then they could follow up with separate stories instead of series of films. Kinda tired of the same ol' sequel/trilogy formula.

@Josh- Bale didn't mention Batman 4 in that interview, he said "I don't even think that's the right title....until Chris tells me I don't believe it etc etc"

He was talking about TDKR.

What the hell is with his accent? He's from the freaking UK and he seems to constantly do these weird accents during interviews (look at the old archive footage of when he was promoting Batman Begins). It's like a Brooklyn/English accent. I know that he's still probably in character for Fighter but come on mate! Stop denying your heritage....p.s I'm from the UK too!

excellent, i like the mentality of them thinking this is the last one, even if maybe it isnt. this way, they're gonna go out of their way to make this the best movie they can possibly make, since theyre treating it as the last one

BobHasMyPants- Thanks bud! But i think the credit should go to LEEE and his awesome TDKR fancast. And on top of that, we all know Snyder would definitely be up fot it! He publically stated it a while back ;)

Christian Bale has already played Jesus in a movie he did after "American Psycho". He has said that playing Jesus was the hardest role of his life, and it gave him constant nightmares...

His accent gives me nightmares...

Looks to me he is starting to train again. Now, Christian Bale is a tad 'strange' but he is the best Batman. Michael Keaton was awesome but Bale is it.

BMP!

Ryden: Thanks for the heads up! I'm having some issues with my laptop so cant view the video...I'm not sure whether the transcript (which I found on another site) is accurate or from a different interview, so I've updated the article to make that a little clearer I hope. :)

Looking at Christian Bale I don't believe the title should be "Batman The Dark Knight Rises", it should rather be "Batman Jesus Christ Rises"!

it may his & nolan last batman film together, but it won't be warners.

they can only want to make films involving batman & superman, they don't like taking chances on other heroes.

that why its taken 52 years to see the green lantern.

ANTICIPATING AND ANTICIPATION FOR THE UPCOMING DARKNIGHT RISING......

-WITH EVERY FILM INSTALLMENT FANS WANNA SEE SOMETHING NEW, AND WITH THE BATMAN, HE ALWAYS IMPROVES HIS ARSENAL, A PROGRESSION, THE APPEAL OF NOLAN'ST DARKNIGHT IS THE INNOVATION TO COMBAT CRIME IN GRITTY REALISM, LET'S SEE...

ANOTHER MORE IMPROVED SUIT...

>CAN THE SUIT BE IMPROVED UPON? MAYBE INSTALL A VOICE CHANGER THROAT APPLIANCE TO GIVE HIM A MORE MENACING IMPOSING VOICE...

A NEWER AND MORE IMPROVED BATMOBILE..

>WELL IN THE DARKNIGHT,THE TUMBLER WAS BLOWN UP...USHERING IN THE POSSIBLE QUESTION FROM BRUCE WAYNE TO LUCIUS FOX,"CAN YOU MAKE ME A NEW MOBILE THAT CAN WITHSTAND A ROCKET LAUNCHER?"..THIS ONE WE WILL CALL A BATMOBILE AND NOT THE TUMBLER 2. THE FACT THAT SOMEONE INSIDE THE WAYNE COMPANY FOUND OUT BRUCE WAYNE WAS BATMAN AND ESCAVATED PLANS OF THE TUMBLER BY DIGGING MAKES A REASON TO MAKE A STAND ALONE UNIQUE VEHICLE...

A NEW BATCAVE...

>IN BATMAN BEGINS WAYNE MANOR WAS BURNT TO THE GROUND, IN THE DARKNIGHT IT WAS BEING REBUILT AND IN THE MEANTIME, WAYNE'S BASE OF OPERATIONS WAS A TRAILER WITH A SECRET ENTRANCE TO A MAKESHIFT LAIR..THIS 3RD INSTALLMENT HOPEFULLY WE SEE A FULLY REALIZED BATCAVE, MAYBE A COOL WAY OF GETTING IN AS WELL(OMG IF YOU PUT IN A BATPOLE...NO.) I LOVE THAT NOLAN MADE BRUCE WAYNES"BATCAVE" INTO A MORE PRACTICAL REALISTIC WELL LIT BASE OF OPERATIONS, LET'S FACE IT, THE GUY IS WEALTHY..WHO WOULD TROLL AROUND IN A DARK MURKY CAVE WITH THE POSSIBILITY OF LOOKING UP AND GETTING HIT WITH GUANO?...

A NEW LEADING LADY...

>MAYBE VICKIE VALE? TALIA? CATWOMAN?...NO...NO ON BATGIRL.NO

A NEW VILLAIN OR VILLAINS...

>HOW DO YOU TOP THE JOKER?..YOU ABSOLUTELY CAN'T..BUT YOU CAN TRY TO GIVE THE BATMAN A RUN FOR HIS MONEY WITH SOMEONE AS DEVIOUS, OR GIVE HIM MULTIPLE PROBLEMS WITH MULTIPLE VILLAINS. KNOWING NOLAN, THE GUY WILL THROW US SOMETHING FROM LEFT FIELD AND SUPRISE US..I WANNA SAY AGAIN LIKE I SAID WHEN I FIRST SAW THE JOKER "WOAH, I WOULD HAVE NEVER THOUGHT OF SEEING THE JOKER IN THAT WAY..THATS REALLY COOL". THE NEW VILLAIN OR VILLAINS WILL BE DARK, HE'LL USE GRITTY REALISM, AND HE, SHE, OR THEY'RE GOING TO BE FREAKING AWSOME.

ThePhantom832 - 11/23/2010, 11:01 AM
honestly with the batmans rogue's gallery, they're at least 4 (counting this one) big name villains that can fit in Nolanverse for his vision of Batman and 7 or 8 lesser villains to be called on
JackBauer
JackBauer - 11/23/2010, 11:29 AM
I hope Rises is better than The Dark Knight. It was good but severely overated because of Heath Ledgers death. Batman Begins is definetly the better film.

Nolan also needs to go back to the look of Batman Begins. The "real world" look of TDK just felt weird.

blankofthedead - 11/23/2010, 11:37 AM
@intruder- just gotta say, great avatar..

@supersoldier- thats the worst opinion ive ever heard. I can agree that tdk is overrated, but only slightly, and people who say that are coming form the perspective of hearing the masses call it a masterpiece... but seeing the movie openng night you have the same thoughts, its only when everyone agrees that its overrated. But batman begins is not even close, you should stop watching movies altogether if you think otherwise

wow bale one hell of a guy he looked so scrawny and old for the film fighter and now soon as he goes back in to training he gets his back to his normal self, i am still suprised on how this guy got his physique back when he did the mechanist(amazing film)

i thinks he's probably the only actor who has got the right balance between batman and bruce but keaton is still the best batman but not bruce

Damn right Superguy, the fourth movie should be a loose continuation with a new cast and director. Simple as that, no need for a reboot
