Michael Caine as Alfred
Gary Oldman as Commissioner Jim Gordon
Morgan Freeman as Lucius Fox
Tom Hardy as Bane
Anne Hathaway as Selina Kyle/Catwoman

i just recently watched the dark knight again: that movie is insanely good. everything about it is spot-on. its as if for every line and every scene nolan demanded that it have a pay off later in the movie. not to mention the technical mastery and the way he weaved the batman ethos (eg. how twoface was "born") into his realistic world. seriously, watch it again and you will see what i mean. batman begins suffered from somewhat of a lesser budget and at the time, nolan didn't have the status so there's a lot of stuff in there that looks like stuff the studio made him add. so this movie is like a sequel in a way. it's not to say that the avengers won't be good or entertaining, but this is just on a completely different level.

since basically Nolan has been so good on all the levels (at least for me) in his films, i do tend to nitpick. here, i hope there is some explanation for the appearance. recall that the tumbler just happened to be a military vehicle on site that he converted into the batmobile, and that seems perfectly reasonable in nolan's batman. the same could be said here, though i hope its not that much of a retread.

It really does look like a cross between the Sulaco dropship and a flying roach. With the two side engines, I'm curious as to how this is supposed to be able to round corners and the like without flipping over. Maybe it's a chopper? Curious.

Come on, don't compare TDKR to the Avengers. It's not like they'll be fighting for the box office. Neither party has anything to really worry about from each other. Keep it cool.

The Joker's highjacked semi in the chase scene mid-way through the The Dark Knight was a circus truck with a picture of a carnival scene on it and the words "Laughter is the best medicine". The Joker scrawled a giant red "S" in front so it reads "Slaughter is the best medicine." Its on the screen for literally a second but it just goes to show you how meticulous Nolan is. He makes it completely legit for elite directors to work in this genre.
