POLL: What DC Film Do You Want To See Replace THE BATMAN In 2018?

With Ben Affleck's solo Batman film now off of WB's 2018 release schedule, five contenders have emerged to replace it - including Gotham City Sirens, Green Lantern, a Justice League Dark movie and more.

With Matt Reeves and Ben Affleck's Batman likely to BEGIN filming in 2018 instead of hitting theaters, James Wan and Jason Momoa's Aquaman is the only DCEU superhero film confirmed to be released next year.

By comparison Marvel Studios is releasing Black Panther, Avengers: Infinity War, Ant-Man and the Wasp and a collaboration with Sony Pictures for a Venom movie.  20th Century Fox also has two Untitled Marvel superhero films on the schedule which are likely Deadpool 2 and the tentatively titled, X-Men: Supernova.

To keep their cinematic universe competitive, Warner Bros. knows it would be ideal to have at least two DCEU installments released every year and as such (per Variety film reporter Justin Kroll), are currently weighing whether to release Gotham City Sirens, Green Lantern, Suicide Squad 2, The Flash or a Justice League Dark film in 2018 to replace the movie.  Aside from Green Lantern, each of these projects has either a lead actor or director in place, with Sirens having both (David Ayer and Margot Robbie).  Of these five options which would you like to see released in 2018 alongside Aquaman?

From a studio standpoint, there are only two films from the list that can actually meet the 2018 release.

Gotham City Sirens and Dark Universe.

These are the only two films with directors, scripts, and have had sufficient time in pre-production. Everything else would end up in 2019 or 2020.

In an ideal world where the movie isn't rushed and has a great writer and director: The Flash
In reality: none

None of the movies should be rushed and I want the JL members solo movies before SS2, Sirens, JL Dark, and other less important properties.

I feel like Ezra Miller and that other girl are just awkwardly waiting in a board room... For a director, writer, and most importantly, a script.

Hope they get that movie on the train tracks, because I don't wanna see a sequel of this monstrosity.

The Flash is anything but a mess. They started over from Lord and Miller's treatment with a new writer, are possibly zeroing in on a director. Ezra is busy with Fantastic Beats 2, so it gives them time tow get everything in order and prepped for when he's done.

Hell, they already have a visual fx supervisor on lock.

@Kr08 - Whatever visual FX they have in store, if won't be as cool as this...

@Kr08 -

Personally hated that effect. Why would him slowing down time around him cause lightning to spark everywhere. Noticeably, this lightning is actually damaging things around him - so every time he moves fasts he risks people lives via the lightning which is shown causing damage to everything around him...?

@Scarilian - Are you being serious right now?

He's the Flash, one of the most powerful comic book characters in history. The Speed Force is an energy dimension that spans across the multiverse. It's pure, raw power that only Barry Allen has tapped into so far in the DCEU.

When he runs or moves at super speed, he taps into the Speed Force. The lightning emits from his body, releasing excess energy around him. The lightning also doesn't harm anyone, because if it did, then it would have hurt Bruce and done much worse to Boomerang in Suicide Squad.

@Kr08 - We also see the same sparking here, noteably on the left side where it burns bright enough to cause a red flare on the wall - or to the middle where it sparks and burns the wall.

@Scarilian - I saw the gif I posted, did you?

All the lightning is doing is hitting the walls and other stuff. Lighters create sparks, and so do fireworks, and sparklers, but that doesn't people are going to die.

Bruce is also in the room with him, just a few feet away. By your standards, Bruce should either be dead, or on fire, but he isn't.

@Kr08 - Its clearly burning the middle of the wall in the gif i posted from Justice League.

If its powerful enough to burn the wall and leave a black mark, then its definitely interacting with the environment - and would be a risk to anyone around him.

@Scarilian - This is a Parademon shooting a laser at him. And those red sparks are from the laser hitting the wall. Why else would he move less than a foot and in a different position? It's pretty obvious he's dodging the shot.

@Scarilian - Lmaoo dude you're trying way too damn hard to find problems with the Flash. It's [frick]ing cgi for a movie about superheroes.

He's also clearly dodging the alien shots. You're just using a shitty gif to get your point across. Here's a better one.

@JohnCena -

I'm on about the blue lightning leaving a very distinct burn mark in the middle on the right side of the door.

@Scarilian - It doesn't matter. The lightning is NEVER going to hit a human being anyway. There's no point in you stressing over it lol
