In terms of a fight Superman hands down wins. Take him less than a millisecond to kick Bats ass. As for who's just a cooler character? Batman.

I think it is pretty simple.
1)If either one wanted to kill the other one without warning, they could. Superman just swoops down and snaps Batman's neck or some other brutal death OOORRR Batman just shoots Superman with a kryptonite bullet or uses any other weakness and attacks the head or heart.
2)Give them both time to plan it out, a fight wouldn't actually happen without some outside force. Batman would make a suit of kryptonite or something and Superman would know to stay away.
*)Plus, without the outside force, what would be the motive to fight?
3)And if you break it down to putting them on a planet where they both have equal powers/gadgets or they both are stripped of those items and just two normal guys. Superman would lose to Batman's martial arts, tactics and body trained to perfection.
4)If they were put in a room by Death or the Monitors or someone capable of destroying everyone they loved and told that they will fight to the death right then and there or Earth will be destroyed: Superman would superspeed over to Batman and kill him before he touched his belt.
5)Never ever ever ever going to happen. So love who you love. I honestly believe that if they ever did do that, Superman would become "evil" somehow and Batman would kill him but would die in a process. It would have some other hero tell everyone to remember Superman for all the good he has done, the message and hope he inspired and that whatever it was that happened to him will never be explained. (The reader of the comics would have the knowledge from the comic but the characters within the story wouldn't know until a month or two later when it is explained in the new story arc.) Then it would end with the comic talking about how a man (Batman), an extraordinary man, but a man none the less gave his life to protect us, to save us... (pan to last page of comic with a statue of Superman and Batman holding the world up) and in the end they were both truly Supermen.

Batman can beat Superman under specific circumstances, but all things being equal, Superman will almost always win. Batman can achieve inequality in preparation and technology. With contrived circumstance to bring about a victory by the skin of Bruce's teeth. Without preparation and planning Kal-El would swats Batman down like a fly.

why is it that when ever there is a batman vs conversation some one always says"if he had prep time"?

My main thing is if Lex Luthor is Supes main villian and hes human. Why is Batman beating superman such a stretch? Batman can beat Luthor.
Supes doesnt have the balls to do whats needed to beat Bats.

Lex goes man to man with superman wearing an exoskeleton. are we talking a straight up fight.

Basically if Batman knows it's coming he just needs green rock. No krypnoite, no win for Batman. Easy right? Next!

honestly i think that wonder woman would give Batman a more difficult time than superman. he does have the ring for superman. Superman can fall prey to many heroes/villians that wonder woman cannot. Black Adam has magic. Captain Atom can you kryptonite radiation, metallo. wonder woman should be able to defeat any of these. well maybe not black adam.

Supes all the way. Batman falls on a dumpster after "jumping across rooftops" and he's finished. Superman gets thrown through meteors and comets and comes back punching!!

But seriously I am a big Batman fan too. I just prefer Supes.

btw the the fat heath-ledger joker-guy @ 1:49 seems funny but his makeup and costume are nearly spot-on of Heath's Joker!

@Superguy1591- LMAO! I like how you agreed with LEEE but with that reluctant/depressed emoticon at the end, LOL. I guess I am on the same side as you as usual...I agree with LEEE...just not about his choice for a Superman ;)
