RESULTS: Batwing Or Batcopter. Which Do You Think It Is?

I asked you whether you think the mysterious aircraft spotted on the Pittsburgh set of The Dark Knight Rises was either the "Batwing" or "Batcopter", and here are the results in full...

When the first images of the mysterious aircraft surfaced, many of us assumed it was the Batwing. After all, it certainly looked like a "Nolanized" version of the comic book vehicle! However, since the videos of it in action were uploaded to YouTube, many have begun to wonder if in fact there's more to it than meets the eye...mainly whether or not it's actually the Batcopter, which was rumored to be in the movie a few months back. Why the speculation? Well, when you look at the way they're controlling it with hydraulics, it does seem to fit the movements of a helicopter, while many of you pointed out the space on the top of it, which looks like an area where rotors could be later added with CGI. Hell, it may even be something else altogether like a hovercraft! So, which did you guys think it is?!

STARRING:

Christian Bale as Bruce Wayne/Batman
Michael Caine as Alfred
Gary Oldman as Commissioner Jim Gordon
Morgan Freeman as Lucius Fox
Tom Hardy as Bane
Anne Hathaway as Selina Kyle/Catwoman
Joseph Gordon-Levitt as Tom Blake
Marion Cotillard as Miranda Tate
Josh Pence as Ra's Al Ghul

RELEASE DATE: July 20th, 2012

@JOSHW-> This poll's results are skewed. People may interpret anything that flies ~that's not a helicopter~ as a Batwing. You should have specified what the "Something else..." was. IMO

I kinda like it because it keeps in line with the Tumbler design but it looks like it came straight out of an Alien movie. Hope it looks better on film (same goes for Bane and CW)

I also think it is gonna be more of a hover-jet, if they were going to CGI helicopter blades on it then I'd imagine the top of it would be green (as they usually do to make the CGI process smoother). Plus I imagine they would have at least built the rotor part sticking out of the top, and just cgi the blades in. And there's no way it's a jet if it's flying around those narrow streets.

LOL at those people who dismiss movies that are still a year away based on a few set pics. Sure it looks a bit cheap and cheesy bopping down the road at slow speed on it's carrier car, but I have no doubt on an IMAX screen with sound effects, camera filters, music and in the context of the film it is likely to look breathtaking.
