The Batman Part II Filming Halted After Cast Member Was Reportedly Run Over By The Batmobile

Filming on The Batman Part II was reportedly halted last month after an unnamed cast member was run over by the Batmobile. Here's the latest on what happened and what it means for production.

British tabloid The Sun has learned that filming on The Batman Part II was halted last month after an unnamed cast member was "run over" by the Batmobile.

Set footage showed the Caped Crusader clashing with members of the Gotham City Police Department while driving his signature mode of transport, so it's possible that one of those actors was caught in the crossfire. Fortunately, whoever it is is not seriously injured, and the individual in question did not "deny their involvement" when contacted, according to the report.

A source told the newspaper, "The Batman films are known for their ambitious scenes, but this one went horribly wrong, and a cast member ended up being hurt. People working on the set said the Batmobile had run someone over. Filming was stopped after the accident."

"These kinds of action films always come with some level of risk, and this accident served as a reminder of that," they added. "Luckily the person who was hurt received treatment at the hospital and is now recovering at home."

Filming has since resumed at Leavesden Studios in Hertfordshire, England, albeit without Matt Reeves at the helm. It was recently confirmed that, due to undisclosed personal issues, Steven Soderbergh is stepping in to film the remaining third or so of The Batman sequel.

Reeves intends to be involved with the post-production process, though it's unclear what all this means for the movie and how different it could feel with two filmmakers having helmed scenes. However, Reeves has made it clear that he is not leaving The Batman Part II.

"I am so happy he's come on to help Matt," Robert Pattinson recently said of Soderbergh's contributions. "It's incredibly generous of him – and he's doing it in the loveliest way. It's completely selfless."

"I think Matt had put so much work into the script, and we're almost done," he continued. "So for someone to come in and say, 'I just want to help Matt do it; I want to do it in conjunction with him and just get it to the edit.' And to have someone who's as talented as Steven doing it is great."

Directed by Matt Reeves and Steven Soderbergh from a script by him and Mattson Tomlin, The Batman Part II stars Robert Pattinson, Scarlett Johansson, Sebastian Stan, Colin Farrell, Andy Serkis, Jeffrey Wright, Charles Dance, Jayme Lawson, Gil Perez-Abraham, Sebastian Koch, and Brian Tyree Henry.

The Batman Part II is set to be released in theaters on February 18, 2028.

My conspiracy theory is that Gunn is behind all the bs with this film because he wanted it in the DCU but everyone involved said no so now he’s just sabotaging everything and anything Batman related

@DOOMSPEAKS - gunn is not clever enough to conduct a conspiracy on this scale

They did a good ass job filming all this secretly. Hope get some big surprises. Feels like the movie is missing something we didn’t see on set and question it. No outdoor or rooftop scenes leaks and no big fighting scenes have leaked. And I’m guessing the villain or villains play inside gotham. We shall see.

Protect Pattinson at all costs! Can someone do a set sweep and look for any banana peels on the floor? Even the director might need a stunt double.

The spectral stink of James Gunn has permeated all things DCFU V2 and has brought a smelly curse on this Batman movie.

The universe is telling DC there is room for only one superhero cinematic franchise.

Gunn is currently casting Batman for Man of Tomorrow. Someone closer to Corenswet's age rather than an older Batman.

I mean... just get Pattinson already.

While the cats away (Reeves) the battinson could play.

Damn , I’m glad this cast member is ok now but this movie seems to have some sort of curse attached to it man which sucks…

I really hope Soderbergh & co get it across the finish line since I liked the first film quite a bit aswell as The Penguin so i want to see more of this world!!.

I wish the person that got run over a quick and full recovery!

Hopefully they get to tell "i got run over by the batmobile" one day as a cool Story without any bad thoughts.

I also hope that the 2nd movie will be as watchable as the first, which is a 6/10 for me.

I really don't want a third part from Matt Reeves, please find another director.
We should have already 4 Batman movies, same as with Spider-Man, not only one.

Stop filming this bullshit already. The crew needs to move on to other projects. Pattinson is wasting his time.
