The Batman Part II's makeup team, Mike Marino's Prosthetic Renaissance workshop, was enlisted by Heidi Klum to work on her incredible Halloween costume for 2026.
It didn't take eagle-eyed fans long to notice that, in the background, there are moulds labelled "Zsasz," "Owl 3," and what appears to be a recreation of Brian Tyree Henry's head with Two-Face's scarred visage. As leaks go, this is a massive (albeit random) one, and it lines up with what's been said about the sequel's primary antagonists on several occasions now.
So, assuming The Batman Part II focuses on Victor Zsasz (played by Sebastian Stan), The Court of Owls, and Two-Face, what exactly does that mean for the upcoming sequel?
At first glance, it's an odd mix and a big departure from The Batman, which, outside of a few brief scenes featuring "Oz" (aka The Penguin), largely focused on The Riddler. However, this trio fitting together might be more straightforward than it seems at first glance, despite them having little in common and no significant history together on the page.
Here's how we see it playing out: with Gotham City still reeling after the events of The Batman, The Court of Owls will finally make its presence known to Bruce Wayne, likely leading to him learning the truth about his parents' role in shaping the home he now protects as a vigilante.
The notion of undead Talons serving them is a little far-fetched for Matt Reeves' Batverse, so Zsasz being hired to serve as their assassin gives Batman another serial killer to hunt down and investigate and a legitimately formidable physical threat, something The Riddler was not.
As for Two-Face, the most likely possibility is that Zsasz is responsible for horrifically scarring the Gotham District Attorney. It could be an unrelated plot thread, but something tells us we're not getting the typical story of Harvey Dent breaking bad and developing a split personality in the aftermath.
Instead, in this grounded franchise, his tale may be one that's grounded in tragedy; there's nothing to say he can't go off the deep end in a potential third chapter, of course, especially if that means exploring Two-Face in a new way.
So, a secret society, an assassin who scars himself each time he murders someone, and one of Gotham's few honest citizens left a scarred shell of his former self. Reeves is clearly planning something major, but for now, we'll have to wait and see exactly what that is.
Directed by Matt Reeves and Steven Soderbergh from a script by him and Mattson Tomlin, The Batman Part II stars Robert Pattinson, Scarlett Johansson, Sebastian Stan, Colin Farrell, Andy Serkis, Jeffrey Wright, Charles Dance, Jayme Lawson, Gil Perez-Abraham, Sebastian Koch, and Brian Tyree Henry.
The Batman Part II is set to be released in theaters on February 18, 2028.
