Independent.ie is reporting that Irish actor Barry Keoghan was arrested this past Sunday by the Gardaí in Dublin for public intoxication. However, it seems as though the matter has been thoroughly resolved and Keoghan was released shortly after his arrest without any formal charges and a fixed charge notice.

The Gardaí were initially called after receiving reports of a man (Keoghan) on a balcony in an intoxicated state. He was notably not considered a threat, but was still arrested due to his heavily inebriated state and brought to the garda station, where he presumably sobered up and was sent on his way shortly after.

In an official statement to Metro, they said, "Gardaí arrested a man in his 20s for a public order incident that occurred in Clongriffin, at approximately 6:45am, Sunday 10th April 2022. He was later released without charge and issued with an FCN (fixed charge notice)."

The 29-year-old Keoghan, one of Hollywood's brightest rising stars, recently appeared as the Joker in Warner Bros.' The Batman, which is currently the highest-grossing film of the year with a global haul of nearly $740 million and counting. He previously played Druig in Marvel Studios' Eternals, had a pivotal role in David Lowery's The Green Knight, and received widespread critical acclaim for his leading parts in Yorgos Lanthimos' The Killing of a Sacred Deer and Nick Rowland's Calm with Horses.

Is this the part where we insert stereotypical joke about how drunk an Irishman has to be to actually be too drunk in public?

Is it just me or do a lot of actors associated with WB get arrested these days?
Not that a drunk 29 year old is an uncommon thing.

@ChrisRed - it’s just you. What’s your definition of a lot?

@ChrisRed - well the guy had a larger role in a marvel movie first but yeah, thats only three

Although not sure Barry drinking too much in his hotel room is comparable to Ezra “choke the b*tch” Miller

@ChrisRed - The thumbnail is literally from an MCU movie and his role in the Batman is so insignificant he can be recast but go on...

At least he didn't assault anybody.

@MUTO123 - He’s a boxer so he could probably really hurt someone. Unlike the other guy who choked a girl and she just walked it off.

@minato808 - Grew up around boxers. Mostly back in the PAL (Police Athletic League) later on many started MMA. All ages, gender, skill level it didn't matter. One thing they all had in common, calmness. Seriously, they got to a point where they were so confident in their abilities, and they knew they could crush the average person, they actually took a minute to think about things before acting out emotionally. Ezra has some mental issues going on there. I'm not one to fawn over, or worship these spoiled celebrities, but I hope the kid gets some serious help.

@DarthOmega - You sound like racists who say they have Black friends. Get over yourself. Growing up around Latinos doesn't give me the right to use racial slurs directed towards them, speak on Latino issues or an "honorary Latino". Sit. Down.

This is nothing. Didn't hurt anyone (except probably his liver). Carry on.

@KWilly - exactly. The only reason this is anything is because he’s a celebrity.

WB is definitely going to pay to push this story till the wheels fall off because of how minor it is to wash away attention from Ezra Miller and how he has publically destroyed The Flash movie.

@SonOfAGif - Wait until it comes out before you say it’s been publicly destroyed, or at least until the review embargo lifts.

A guy can drink all he wants, is only an issue when the drinking leads to
Choking a person
Assaulting a person
Pulling something from a person’s hand
Threatening a person
Stealing from a person

Is it really public intoxication when the guy was drinking wherever he was staying and was just on a balcony?

Really the only reason the police were caller is because he could be seen from someone’s window

Either way hopefully this doesnt become a problem for him
