No filming was being done at the airport on Tuesday, and no actors were seen.
But it appeared crew members were making preparations.
Filming for "The Dark Knight Rises" is expected to take place in the Pittsburgh area from July 28 to Aug. 21.
Airport owner Rock Ferrone said the airport closed Monday and will remain that way for up to three weeks for runway maintenance and "other activity" he said he could not discuss.
Ferrone said he could not confirm or deny any movie filming at the airport.

A spokeswoman for the Batman production, Claudia Kalindjian, said in an e-mail that no shooting was taking place at Rock Airport this week. She could not provide details as to "when/what/where we will be shooting in the Pittsburgh area once we get started."
A black-frame vehicle appearing to be rigged for filming was seen driving up and down the runway in the late morning, accompanied by a silver van. A yellow vehicle described as a "dragster car" also was seen traveling on the runway with the same silver minivan. Also seen was a flatbed truck carrying two scissor lifts.
People at the airport apparently connected with the production would not answer any questions. They wouldn't say who they are or who they are with, citing a confidentiality agreement they had signed.
The Dark Knight Rises hits theaters July 20th 2012 and stars Christian Bale as Bruce Wayne/Batman, Michael Caine as Alfred Pennyworth, Garly Oldman as Jim Gordon, Tom Hardy as Bane, Anne Hathaway as Selina Kyle, Joseph Gordon-Levitt as John Blake and Marion Cotillard as Miranda Tate.
