Tom Hardy Wearing Three Inch Lifts And A Voice Box For The Dark Knight Rises?

According to the latest rumors from TDKR set, Tom Hardy is wearing three inch lifts in order to be the same height as Morgan Freeman and Christian Bale, as well a voice box which controls the pitch of his speech...

Got a pinch of salt handy? Good, because you'll need it for this report from British tabloid, The Sun. While I must confess that these claims do in fact sound extremely likely, the source isn't exactly the most reliable, but here is an excerpt from the report for you guys to judge for yourselves via Monsters And Critics.

Actor Tom Hardy has reportedly been wearing specially made shoes fitted with three-inch lifts on the set of the latest Batman film The Dark Knight Rises. Hardy, who is 5ft 9in, has been wearing them so he can be the same size as co-stars Morgan Freeman and Christian Bale.

According to British newspaper The Sun, the movie's producers wanted his character, Bane, to be around the same height as Batman and Morgan's Lucius Fox, who are both over 6ft.

The 33-year-old has also allegedly been wearing a voice box which controls the pitch of his speech. But he's been the victim of on-set pranks as the sound effects team have been amusing themselves by speeding up the frequency.

So, what do you guys make of this? When we heard a recording of Tom Hardy's Bane a month or so ago, he certainly sounded a lot different to what many of us were expecting, and this could explain why. As for the height difference between him and Christian Bale's Batman, it hard to tell whether or not he'd been boosted up in height in the set photos we saw, but this is yet another claim which is somewhat believable. Be sure to share your thoughts in the usual place!

STARRING:

Christian Bale as Bruce Wayne/Batman
Michael Caine as Alfred
Gary Oldman as Commissioner Jim Gordon
Morgan Freeman as Lucius Fox
Tom Hardy as Bane
Anne Hathaway as Selina Kyle/Catwoman
Joseph Gordon-Levitt as John Blake
Marion Cotillard as Miranda Tate
Josh Pence as Ra's Al Ghul

You'd have to be dumb as shit to believe he's wearing a voice box in that a "sound effects team" can control for pranks.

Desperate garbage. I would have bought the 3 inch lifts story, but the voice box lie is trash journalism at it's lowest.

Only three inches? He will still be too small. I guess they are gonna make him big in post, or at least average height.
Ranger14

What's so hard to believe about him wearing 3 inch lifts? He needs the height...umm...well...he needs the overall larger stature, which lifts isn't going to give him, but at least he will almost be as tall as Bale then.

@tea-enough with the women, my carpal tunnel can't take it.

Bane is supposed to be taller than Bats BEFORE venom-ed.

I've heard that Lucious creates Bane because he is bored with Wayne and his silly costume adjustments - and that Joker will make a guest appearance while driving around in the tumbler -

That made up piece of fiction should be given as much weight as anything from that hack source.

I don't care whether Bane looks like the comic one or not - I like this Batman trilogy and no matter how many people are upset with this or that about it - I will be standing in line opening night to watch it. I enjoyed the first two so I'm sure I'll enjoy this and if not - it's a few hours of escapism from the real world with popcorn included.

Both sound very plausible. His voice was jacked in that audio we heard a while back and actors wear lifts all the time.

Seriously, how Hemsworth, Evans AND Cavill ALL bulked up BIGGER than what Hardy is, when Bane's supposed to be the biggest of the three, is completely beyond me.

I heard a rumor that they had people standing way apart and acting like they were talking to each other on the set of Lord of the Rings. The depths some directors will go to...

So Bane is like the dog on up with a high squeeky voice? Funny.
