It Sounds Like BATMAN v SUPERMAN Will Be Getting A Special 70mm Release
If you're a Quentin Tarantino fan, you've no doubt already heard that the best possible way to see The Hateful Eight is in 70mm. Well, that may also be the case for Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice according to a new report, so hit the jump for further details...
Seeing a movie in 70mm is considered the best possible format by many, especially when a film is shot in 65mm. Of course, finding a screen that accomodates this can be a challenge, but Quentin Tarantino's The Hateful Eight might just end up being a game changer. That could include a special run for Zack Snyder's Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, a movie which is no doubt going to have a huge sense of scale, especially after he shot parts of it in 65mm. "With these projectors now operational and available, there’s the potential they could be used for future films beyond Tarantino’s roadshow," explains The Hollywood Reporter. "Sources say Warner Bros. is considering the possibility of having a 70mm release for Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice, which was shot in part in 65mm Imax and opens in March." HFR never took off after the release of The Hobbit trilogy, but it looks like 70mm just might. Would you track Batman v Superman down in this format or do you just want to see the damn thing already?
