Jesse Eisenberg Says BATMAN V SUPERMAN: DOJ Is Not A "Cartoonish Superhero Movie"
In past interviews, Eisenberg has sounded very positive when discussing Zack Snyder's follow up to Man Of Steel, and that continued when he sat down with Today to discuss the film. The Lex Luthor actor seems most pleased with the serious tone, calling the movie "phenomenal"...
Actors praising their own movies is not exactly news, but the always blunt and outspoken Jesse Eisenberg doesn't seem like the type of guy to blow smoke when it's not really necessary, so when he's said positive things about Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice previously without any prompting, people paid attention.
In the following video interview, he's at it again, claiming Chris Terrio has written his Lex Luthor as an "incredible character", and insisting that Zack Snyder's movie will be something fans will take very seriously.
"Yes, it is like the most incredible character. It was written by this guy, Chris Terrio. This is like his first movie after Argo. He's just this brilliant writer of characters. So this movie is not this kind of cartoonish superhero movie. It is very serious and well acted, well written, well directed movie. It's really phenomenal!"
That rumored "no jokes" policy in full effect? Maybe... but I, for one, am perfectly fine with that. Eisenberg has come across a bit negative about his whole superhero movie experience in the past (remember the SDDC being like "genocide" comments?) so it's nice to see him speak with such passion about the movie here.
