Michael Shannon Has Some Unusual Things To Say About His BATMAN v SUPERMAN Role
We know we'll see Michael Shannon in some capacity in Batman v Superman, after he popped up in the latest trailer. However, we're not sure how big a role he has. Now, the actor may have shed some light on that. Check it out, but be careful of SPOILERS!
Michael Shannon's General Zod shockingly met his fate at the hands of Superman at the end of Man Of Steel. Therefore, it was even more surprising to see him reprise his role as Zod's lifeless corpse in the latest trailer for Batman v Superman: Dawn Of Justice. His inclusion sparked a whole new debate, and many fans believe his deceased character may be involved in the creation of the creature 'Doomsday' - who has been heavily rumored to feature in Zack Snyder's film.
At the moment, this is all simply speculation, but Shannon may have just confused matters even more. Speaking to Vulture, he described a rather awkward experience he had on set - which resulted in the talented actor getting trapped in a porta-potty. “I was in my costume, and I couldn’t use my fingers because in the sequel I have flippers instead of hands,” Shannon explained, "So I had these wax flippers on my fingers, and I couldn’t open the door, and I could hear Zack being like, 'Where’s Shannon? Where the [frick] is he?' and the whole crew was standing around. I was like, knocking on the door with my flippers, 'Let me out of here!'”
Flippers, huh? Last time I checked, Doomsday never had flippers for hands. Could this be a new interpretation of the Superman foe? Or perhaps Shannon is playing a completely different character - one linked to Jason Momoa's Aquaman maybe? Regardless, he refused to comment any further on his surprise trailer apperance. “Well, I haven’t seen the trailer either, so I don’t know what I am in the trailer,” he said. “I could be a toaster, or a Porsche, I don’t know.”
Mystery solved. Michael Shannon is playing an evil toaster.
Batman V. Superman: Dawn Of Justice is set to hit theatres March 25, 2016.
