Time Warner CEO Claims BATMAN v SUPERMAN Is 2016's Most Highly Anticipated Movie

At an annual shareholders meeting today, Time Warner CEO Jeff Bewkes made some bold claims about Zack Snyder's Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, while also talking bout the upcoming DC Comics slate; will we be getting more than those already announced? Read on for details...

Between Captain America: Civil War, Deadpool, and Star Wars: Rogue One (to name just a few), 2016 is a massive year for movies. Is Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice the most highly anticipated of them all? That's what Time Warner CEO Jeff Bewkes claimed today according to Variety as he told investors that there was "no more anticipated" movie set for release next year than this one. That's one hell of a bold (and expected) claim, but is it one you agree with?

Regardless, the site also points out that Bewkes "talked up plans for Warner Bros. to release as many as 10 DC Comics-related movies in the next few years", and some sites are taking that as an indication that we'll be getting more of these adaptations than expected over the next few years. That's an interesting assumption, but it's worth noting that there are ten movies on Warner Bros.' DC Comics slate, so we probably shouldn't get too excited just yet. Then again, the studio still hasn't announced those Batman and Superman movies they promised when the DC slate was unveiled...

1st Great Title...

2nd It's a fair statement. We have like Captain America 3, Dr Strange, Deadpool, X-Men, and Rogue One. Out of all of that BVScould definitely be said to be at/near the top of the list

It's a pretty fair thing to say. I mean, advertising hasn't started yet, but everyone has known about it since the logo was released two years ago...
everyone may not be looking forward to seeing it, but everyone is anticipating it's arrival as a huge movie next year.

I really, really want to see someone try to say it's not.

If it was 2015, you could debate it but it's released for 2016. Nothing is bigger. Stuff could be as big but nothing is bigger.

He's probably right. But will it deliver? And how much a chunk out of 2016 will The Force Awakens take given its December 18th release date?
Nothing's certain.

We also have Vertigo films to look forward to and WB needs to announce a Dark Universe film
along with Superman and Batman films.

I think WB is gonna make a massive film slate dump to dominate the news cycle next month in San Diego.

According to most polls on respected websites and the results from Comic-Con last year, it's not.

If Hellboy 3 was released in 2016, it would be most anticipated. Hell it would be the most anticipated movie of all time.

I guarantee it.
