While Warner Bros. has (mostly) given up on creating a shared universe similar to the MCU, the studio is looking to imitate Marvel Studios' success in bringing their movie characters to the small screen. Whether the HBO Max shows - starting with Peacemaker - will find the same level of success as those on Disney+ remains to be seen, but we are going to be seeing a lot of them moving forward.

The Batman alone will set the stage for shows focusing on The Penguin and Gotham City P.D., and it sounds like Black Adam will similarly lead to supporting characters receiving the spotlight.

Talking to Collider, the movie's co-producer and Seven Bucks Productions President Hiram Garcia said, "[We] introduce a lot of new characters in here, and a lot of these characters are big fan favorites, so we're currently working on spinoffs that we can do for some of those characters."

The likes of Hawkman and Dr. Fate would be perfect choices for spinoff movies or TV shows, and Garcia promised, "you're going to start to hear announcements regarding some of these characters and who we're going to finally be able to tell a little bit more on going forward. It's a lot of paperwork involved. You got to sort it through before you say anything too definitive."

Asked specifically about the opportunities presented by HBO Max, the producer agreed that the streaming platform opens the door to telling "as many stories as you can with these worlds you love." He then added, "It's a great time right now to do what we do and to have so many opportunities to tell these stories. It's just about picking the ones that rise to the top for us and help contribute to the overall vision that we have for this universe, so we're fully in it, and there's going to be more coming out."

It's worth noting that Black Adam's superhero supporting characters will be part of the Justice Society of America, and with the Justice League seemingly shelved for now, that team could eventually receive a movie of their own. Either way, there are clearly big plans in place for this corner of the DCEU!

Black Adam will thunder into theatres on July 29.
