BLACK ADAM Producer Teases A New Take On The DCEU And A Possible Future Crossover With Wonder Woman

Black Adam producer Hiram Garcia teases a very different take on the DCEU in the movie, while also hinting at a big screen reunion for Dwayne Johnson and Gal Gadot (Wonder Woman) somewhere down the line.

We've been hearing a lot about Black Adam's title character changing the hierarchy of the DC Extended Universe, and at the premiere of Red Notice, producer Hiram Garcia dropped some exciting teases about what fans can expect. Confirming that he's seen the first cut of the movie, the filmmaker noted, "[it's] big and it's a lot of fun...it's got a lot of edge to it, and I think the world is ready."

"When we do something like this, we're looking at the entire DC Universe as a whole because with our movie, not only do we introduce Black Adam, but we introduce several characters," Garcia added, referencing the Justice Society. "We have great ambitions and plans for what we want to do in the DC Universe, and we're starting to work on that now as we start to roll out that plan."

In Red Notice, Black Adam star Dwayne Johnson shares the screen with Wonder Woman actress Gal Gadot. Asked whether their DC characters could one day cross paths, the producer seemed confident they could make it happen somewhere down the line.

"We gotta see them together somehow, so we're working on it," Garcia teased. "Wonder Woman and Black Adam sharing the screen would be pretty awesome, and I honestly feel like Wonder Woman is one of the few superheroes that can go toe-to-toe with Black Adam."

This team-up (or clash) would be quite the sight to behold, though we'd bet on Black Adam meeting Shazam before other heroes from the DCEU cross his path. Superman is the character fans most want to see alongside Johnson's anti-hero, but that's looking increasingly unlikely with Henry Cavill seemingly done with the Man of Steel after talks with Warner Bros. broke down.

Black Adam is set to be released in theaters on July 29, 2022.
