Thanks to Discovery's acquisition of Warner Bros., the DC Extended Universe finds itself in a state of flux. New CEO David Zaslav is determined to enact a ten-year plan for the franchise, though seems unable to find anyone willing to take charge of a series of movies that's essentially become Hollywood's own poison apple.
What that means for the Black Adam franchise moving forward remains to be seen, though we find it hard to believe Warner Bros. Discovery will want to part ways with Dwayne Johnson.
A Shazam! crossover is likely inevitable, while many fans remain anxious for both Zachary Levi's magic-fuelled superhero and Black Adam to share the screen with Superman. Alas, with Henry Cavill's future as the Man of Steel in doubt, that might be wishful thinking.
Doing the rounds to promote Black Adam tickets going on sale, Johnson was asked outright if fans can expect to see any members of the Justice League in the movie.
Unfortunately, he remains tight-lipped, saying, "I can tell you that we are going to have to wait and see!" That definitely sounds like a tease, and a lot of fans will be disappointed if there isn't some kind of crossover. Of course, they'll be downright livid if it's another headless Superman appearance, as that sucked in Shazam! and would be even worse three years later.
In the movie, Johnson stars alongside Aldis Hodge as Hawkman, Noah Centineo as Atom Smasher, Sarah Shahi as Adrianna, Marwan Kenzari as Sabbac, Quintessa Swindell as Cyclone, Bodhi Sabongui as Amon, and Pierce Brosnan as Dr. Fate.
Black Adam looks set to electrify audiences in theaters when it's released on October 21, later this year!
