BLACK ADAM Will Reportedly Feature Appearances From Hawkman, Stargirl, And JSA Members

It's been four and a half years since Dwayne Johnson was announced as Black Adam, but it seems like the project is finally coming together based on some new story details which come from the latest draft.

Originally, Black Adam was supposed to appear in Shazam! but plans changed and the character is now getting his own solo movie. That's been in the works for what feels like forever, but according to That Hashtag Show, Adam Szytkiel (who was hired back in 2017) recently handed in a new draft which is reportedly inspired by Geoff Johns' early 2000s work.

It's said that Carter Hall, a.k.a. Hawkman, will have a role in the movie and he'll be squaring off with the titular anti-hero. Warner Bros. is looking for an actor in the 30 - 35 range who can convincingly take the fight to Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson.

Interestingly, Justice Society of America characters Atom Smasher and Stargirl  - who will soon appear in her own live-action DC Universe TV series - are also expected to appear. They're a couple in the comic books, and the studio is eyeing actors in the 20 - 29 range to play the heroes.

With production on Black Adam unlikely to begin until early 2020, it's going to be quite some time until we see anything from this one but casting could easily begin during the second half of the year.

Either way, it's definitely interesting to see so many familiar faces from the DC Comics Universe added to this movie, especially when we mostly assumed it would be a standalone adventure for the character. Fingers crossed it succeeds, because that's probably the only way we'll see Black Adam and Shazam finally come to blows on the big screen.
