Black Adam arrives in theaters next week, and while there's currently a lot of chatter online about Superman, we can't forget that a crossover with the Shazam! franchise feels like the logical next step. Billy Batson and Teth-Adam have clashed on the page more times than we can count, and seeing what the anti-hero makes of the Shazam Family promises to be a real treat.
Earlier this week, we spoke with Grace Caroline Currey about her role in the edge-of-your-seat thriller, Fall.
Of course, we couldn't let her go without getting some intel about her role as Mary Marvel in the DCEU and, with Black Adam on the horizon, we wondered if the Shazam! Fury of the Gods star is hoping to eventually share the screen with Dwayne Johnson.
"Yeah, there’s definitely some tension, right? We’ve got to cross paths someday. I hope so. I think it would be so fun. Mary’s got her whole comic book storyline with Black Adam," Currey notes, referring to Mary Marvel's Black Mary persona, "so who knows if we’ll ever get to explore that."
"I know, for my character at least, it feels fateful that she encounters him," the actress concludes. "Who knows? We’ll see!"
Now Currey is getting to suit up as Mary Marvel in the Shazam! franchise (replacing Michelle Borth), when the day does come for the Shazam Family to meet Black Adam, she'll no doubt be front and centre.
In the meantime, we can assure you that she absolutely knocks it out of the park in Fall, and we'll be bringing you the full interview with her, and co-star Virginia Gardner, about that movie next week.
Black Adam is set to be released on October 21, with Shazam! Fury of the Gods set to follow on March 17, 2023. As for Fall, that's now available on Digital and hits Blu-ray and DVD on October 18 from Lionsgate.
