Ryan Coogler and the cast of Marvel's Black Panther received a standing ovation after debuting brand new footage from their upcoming film, and while it'll probably be a few months before fans online get to enjoy that trailer, Marvel Studios did still give us one treat to take a way - an awesome new poster!

The poster is a hi-resolution version of the one we saw this morning as Chadwick Boseman's titular hero stands tall atop a giant panther sculpture, surveying his technologically advanced kingdom of Wakanda.

Check out the badass new poster below:

Marvel Studios’ “Black Panther” follows T’Challa who, after the death of his father, the King of Wakanda, returns home to the isolated, technologically advanced African nation to succeed to the throne and take his rightful place as king. But when a powerful old enemy reappears, T’Challa’s mettle as king—and Black Panther—is tested when he is drawn into a formidable conflict that puts the fate of Wakanda and the entire world at risk. Faced with treachery and danger, the young king must rally his allies and release the full power of Black Panther to defeat his foes and secure the safety of his people and their way of life.

Black Panther features:

Chadwick Boseman as T'Challa/Black Panther
Michael B. Jordan as Erik Killmonger
Lupita Nyong'o as Nakia
Danai Gurira as Okoye

This, Thor, and Captain Marvel all look great. Though does anyone else think lots of the recent MCU films had basically the same design? Guardians 2, Thor, and Black Panther especially.

@BlindWedjat - I don't really have a big problem with it. And I'm not trying to say that they aren't being creative. But I feel like pretty much all the upcoming MCU films have space ships, weird creatures, and colorful new planets or locations. I'm still really excited for them, I just can't help noticing it.
PantherKing

@Valdez - So why can't they have advanced technology and cosmic stuff
TheDayman
TheDayman - 7/22/2017, 8:48 PM
@PantherKing - That's not really what I mean. It's just that when I think back to Phase 1, every movie looked and felt really different. Iron Man was darker and a bit more realistic, Captain America was a big war movie, Thor was a Sci-Fi/Fantasy. Now, I kind of feel like Ragnarok especially looks basically like another Guardians films, but with Thor characters. I was hoping BP would be different, but it has spaceships and sci-fi weaponry too... I guess it makes sense that the MCU is evolving and becoming more cosmic and scientifically advanced, I personally would prefer a bit more visual variety. That said, I'm still very excited for all the upcoming MCU movies, and I do like the designs they're going with, it's just something that kind of stood out to me.

@Valdez - Thor and GOTG I agree but BP? Really?
TheDayman
TheDayman - 7/22/2017, 9:06 PM
@MarvelDCAllDay - BP to a much lesser extent. I was just a bit surprised to see those spaceship things in the trailer.
