BLACK PANTHER Wins Big At 2018 MTV Movie And TV Awards - Here's The Full List Of Winners

They may not be the Oscars but the 2018 MTV Movie and TV Awards took place last night and Black Panther was crowned the winner in almost every major category, beating the likes of Avengers: Infinity War!

Wakanda Forever! We're still a long way from next year's Academy Awards but comic book fans are already hoping that Black Panther will be recognised at the ceremony (making it the first superhero movie to receive a Best Picture nod since The Dark Knight). Regardless, the Marvel Studios movie dominated at the 2018 MTV Movie and TV Awards picking up a number of huge wins at the show.

Stranger Things, meanwhile, took charge of the television field. That's no great surprise giving its popularity but an argument could definitely be made that the second season wasn't quite up there with the first! Going back to Black Panther, it's great to see the movie receive so many awards and it just goes to show that it resonated with moviegoers in a big way. Did you catch the ceremony?

Congratulations to Marvel and to DC for WW's win. Hopefully cbms will continue to grow, improve, and resonate with even more people of the general audience.

Infinity War should've won everything it got nominated for imho

@Ragnarocknroll - I definitely wouldn’t have been mad at Thanos winning best villain, but that fight scene between Scarlet Witch, Okoye, Black Widow, and Proxima Midnight definitely did not deserve to win best fight. It wasn’t even the best fight in the movie

@Krona13 - Battle on titan would have won. It was literally something out of a comicbook (or anime).

Perfect comicbook action, just pure brilliance.

@FunkyCipher - The Titan battle was one of the most awesomess things I've ever seen in a film:

- The team working together to remove the Gauntlet from Thanos' hand
- Thanos using the individual Stones to showcase their power
- Thanos throwing the Moon at Stark
- Thanos vs Strange (this was incredible)
- Thanos vs Stark (so intense)

One of the best scenes ever put on film!

@kylo0607 - Thanos vs Dr. Strange was lit!!! Holy sh*t. Dr. Strange was more bad ass in this movie than in his own solo. Damn he's gotten great at his abilities. Can't wait for him to receive the title of Sorcerer Supreme.

@DVonShakari - Yes, the Russo seem to handle some of these characters better than other directors for their own solo films.

That being said, Coogler did an incredible job with BP.

All I am saying is that Russo seem to handle their power levels and action scenes better than others handle them in the solo films.

@Krona13 - As much as I WANTED that fight to be dope, it really wasn't worth being up here...hell I think Scarlet Witch vs Proxima in the first fight was a better fight.

@FunkyCipher - Ummm yea, the fight with the ladies at the end was great but very brief. I loved how she was handling herself (and Vision for that matter) against both Proxima and Corvus.

@Forthas - I thought it was okay. I was not crazy about that fight scene.
Forthas
Forthas - 6/19/2018, 8:22 AM
@NegativeNerd - I like it because it is so realistic...there is not a lot of CGI in it...it does not look choreographed and therefore there is a greater sense of danger for the protagonist. To me it is just easier to get into it than when people punch each other and shake it off as if they are fighting with pillows.

@malesia012 - Oh come on. Just because you disagreed and that it was from a female led film doesn’t mean it was to please “SJWs”. A lot of people, females and males, loved that scene.

@malesia012 - yeah, that lost me at "Best Picture". BP was an ok movie for me and IW was miles above it in every way but a cultural milestone.
