All eyes may be on Avengers: Infinity War right now but Black Panther continues to dominate the box office and the King of Wakanda is currently slicing down the competition in China. Early estimates point to Marvel's latest movie earning $22.7 million today, a figure which gives it the third-best opening day of all-time in the Middle Kingdom behind only Avengers: Age of Ultron and Captain America: Civil War.
As a result, analysts believe that it could earn around $65 million - $75 million over the weekend, a solid haul which is going to help Black Panther in a big way as its worldwide total continues ticking up.
After opening in China, the Ryan Coogler helmed release has passed $980 million at the worldwide box office and will sail past $1 billion tomorrow, the first superhero movie to hit that benchmark in quite some time. North America remains Black Panther's top territory with $520.8 million, while the UK is in second place with $51.5 million. That's an incredible result and one which guarantees a sequel.
