His name is one which has been thrown around for a while now, and the overwhelmingly positive reception to both of the movies above should be more than enough for you to have faith in Kevin Feige's decision! Like the title character of the movie, Cogler is black, and he actually had this to say in a recent interview when asked whether he believes it's important for somone with the same race as T'Challa to direct his movie. "I think that there is a potential for a greater truth when a filmmaker comes from a particular culture that they’re dealing with. That’s not to say that a filmmaker can’t work outside his or her cultural space. But I do believe that the opportunity for the film to have more nuance will come when you looking at filmmakers that bring a little bit of that from their personal experience." He certainly understands what's required then, and before you go doubting the legitmacy of this report, The Wrap has now confirmed that he's in negotiations! What do you guys think about this news?
