BLACK WIDOW: Check Out EW's Cast Portraits Featuring Scarlett Johansson, Florence Pugh, And More

The cast of Black Widow came together at Comic-Con on Saturday, and now some photos of them (out of character, obviously) have been released. These are really cool and you can check them out right here...

It's been pretty clear for a while now that Black Widow is on the way from Marvel Studios, but it was made 100% official at Comic-Con on Saturday. Now, a series of cast portraits have been revealed featuring Scarlett Johansson, Florence Pugh, David Harbour, O. T. Fagbenle, and Rachel Weisz.

It's an impressive ensemble, and while the cast obviously isn't suited up as they'll appear in the movie, these are all really cool photos and are accompanied by some new quotes from the actors.

Harbour talks about playing a "super soldier," while Fagbenle drops some very interesting hints about his apparent love interest for Natasha, who some fans are convinced is actually Taskmaster!

We'll have more from Comic-Con for you later, but for now, check these out by hitting the "View List" button!

With the film set after the events of Captain America: Civil War, Johansson promises we’ll see a different Natasha than the one in past MCU films. “When something huge explodes and all the pieces are landing, you have that moment of stillness where you don’t know what to do next — that’s the moment that she’s in. In that moment, you actually have to face yourself.”

Harbour’s character is also known as the Red Guardian, Russia’s answer to Captain America. “In a way, he’s a super-soldier, but he’s also a very complicated guy. He has a lot of flaws, a lot of idiosyncrasies. It’s a very rich character” Harbour told EW.

Comic-Con attendees were treated to a fight scene between Black Widow and Pugh’s character Yelena Belova, described as a sister figure to the superspy.

It hasn't been released online but those attending Comic-Con were treated to a fight scene between Black Widow and Florence Pugh's Yelena Belova. However, it sounds like these two have a sister-like relationship and will actually be allies in the movie.

Fagbenle describes his character Mason as “a fixer,” who comes from Natasha’s past and is “kind of into her.” “It’s a bit of a complex relationship with Natasha because obviously, ostensibly we have this kind of business transaction, but I think there’s a little romantic frisson,” Fagbenle told EW.

"It’s a bit of a complex relationship with Natasha because obviously, ostensibly we have this kind of business transaction, but I think there’s a little romantic frisson." The question is, could he be playing Taskmaster? That would certainly be a pretty interesting twist.

Weisz described her character Malena to EW as “quite a seasoned spy and assassin,” who has “been cycled through the Black Widow Red Room [program] five times at this point in her life.” She also plays a key part in a top-secret experiment within the film.

Rachel Weisz's is reportedly playing Malena in the movie, "a seasoned spy and assassin," who has "been cycled through the Black Widow Red Room [program] five times at this point in her life." She also plays a key role in some sort of experiement in the film.

O. T. Fagbenle, Florence Pugh, Scarlett Johansson, Rachel Weisz, and David Harbour took a break from shooting to give audiences more details about the long-awaited solo film for the original Avengers member.
After the Marvel Comic-Con 2019 panel, the Black Widow stars provided EW with some exclusive scoops about what we can expect from the prequel movie, due out May 1, 2020.

What are your thoughts on Black Widow's cast? Are you guys excited to check the movie out when it arrives in theaters next May? As always, be sure to let us know your thoughts below.

I don't want to be too critical (everyone can misspeak in a big high profile event like that), but Harbour came off like a bit of an asshole by calling that question "stupid". I get what he was saying, but it felt weirdly hostile and personally disrespectful to Chobot (who was just doing her job lobbing one softball to each guest before they got shuffled off).

@Spock0Clock - Agreed. I liked his high energy but he didn't need to say the question was stupid. Maybe it was an "in the moment" thing but it was a poor choice of words.

@DnA - Exactly. Saying "what kind of question is that?!" would have been totally fine. And I'm not looking to run some kind of #BoycottHarbour campaign or anything like that. It was just a pretty heavy cringe moment (in an overall kind of rushed and awkward presentation from Marvel). Content A+. Delivery... C-.

@Spock0Clock - I liked him saying that.. because the questions were all stupid. As far as I was concerned, that was just moment in which he was saying what we were all thinking.

@Spock0Clock - harbour is a very colourful personality and that can comenoff weird innsome ways. Jessica chobot is very exprienced , ive known her since ign and i dont think its her fault.

Those questions were mandated by marvel to be vague.

Sucks that Natasha didn't get a trilogy in the Infinity Saga, but at least she is here to pass the torch and set up a possible black widow trilogy. Hopefully this is less like Captain Marvel and more like Wonder Woman or Kill Bill

Marvel somehow found a cast that look like they were genetically engineered to be in a Black Widow movie, including a new Black Widow that somehow looks even more like Black Widow than the other nearly perfectly cast Black Widow

GUESS:

The reason they havent revealed Taskmaster yet and the fact he’s in a full body suit of armor is because the big twist at the end is that he’s Missus Daniel Craig.

I'm not entirely sold on this movie (simply because I was never extremely interested in Black Widow as a character), but we'll see once Taskmaster gets brought in (I've been waiting for him for a long time).

Also, depends on the tone of the movie. If this has a similar espionage feel to Winter Soldier, I'll probably absolutely love it. Winter Soldier is still very high on my list of favorite MCU films.
