Black Widow will be the first Marvel Studios movie to play in theaters since Spider-Man: Far From Home in 2019. While fans will have the option to watch from home, it feels like the perfect excuse to return to that big screen experience, which is something Disney is sure to be counting on.
Now, a couple of new sneak peeks have found their way online, including a clip that sees Yelena Belova poke fun at Natasha Romanoff's classic fighting pose. The Avenger's "sister" brands Natasha a "poser," and it looks like the dynamic between these two characters will be a highlight in the movie.
Talking of Earth's Mightiest Heroes, they receive a nod in a promo for Black Widow courtesy of Red Guardian. However, his wisecrack leads to a punch in the face from Florence Pugh's Yelena.
"In Marvel Studios' Black Widow, Natasha Romanoff aka Black Widow confronts the darker parts of her ledger when a dangerous conspiracy with ties to her past arises," reads the movie's synopsis. "Pursued by a force that will stop at nothing to bring her down, Natasha must deal with her history as a spy and the broken relationships left in her wake long before she became an Avenger."
In the movie, Scarlett Johansson reprises her role as Natasha/Black Widow, Florence Pugh stars as Yelena, David Harbour portrays Alexei/The Red Guardian, and Rachel Weisz is Melina. Black Widow is directed by Cate Shortland and produced by Kevin Feige; Black Widow - the first big screen story in Phase 4 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe - arrives on July 9th both in theaters and on Disney+.
