BLACK WIDOW: Latest Trailer Reportedly Includes Very Little In The Way Of New Footage

We recently learned that two new trailers for Black Widow have been classified by, and after one was reportedly shown in Canada this weekend, it doesn't sounds like we should expect many big reveals...

Last week, there was a lot of excitement surrounding the news that the BBFC had classified two trailers for the upcoming Black Widow movie. Seeing as it was delayed from this past May to November, it only made sense that Disney and Marvel Studios would have to restart the marketing campaign, but it doesn't sound like we should expect too much.

A Vancouver-based film critic says he saw one of these new sneak peeks at a Canadian movie theaters over the weekend, and that it included "some new Red Guardian fight scenes" and "footage fleshing out them as a 'family.'" That doesn't sound overly exciting, but one of the reasons fans love Marvel Studios is because they don't give everything away in the trailers.

Still, with the news cycle slow right now (particularly in regards to upcoming releases), anything would be appreciated, even if it's just a few new snippets of Black Widow we haven't seen before.

Time will tell whether these are going to be released online, but it seems likely. After all, not a lot of people will want to return to theaters to catch it on the big screen with everything going on right now.

Check out the brief description of this Black Widow trailer below:

Does anyone think Taskmaster is a MCU Arkham Knight? Both have awesome suits, but also the worst kept secret. OT Fagbenle being Taskmaster is just as obvious as Jason Todd being the Arkham Knight.

Rachel Weisz being the big bad, OT Fabegnale being Taskmaster, Florence Pugh becoming the new Black Widow.

Seems like a checklist...a very entertaining checklist but I feel like we kind of have the movie down. Still excited for it.

@TheJustinHammer - Really? All I see about taskmaster is who is it under the mask? Rachel? OT? Steve? Clint?
MCUKnight11
MCUKnight11 - 7/6/2020, 12:48 PM
@regularmovieguy - I could see Taskmaster being Iron Maiden's muscle just like Jason was Scarecrow's muscle.

Eh, I do feel like they are keeping his identity a mystery. He's done moves that mimic the Avengers, you have the clip of him and Black Widow staring each other down only seeing BW's reflection through his mask.

@MCUKnight11

Yeah, I hope he is honestly. And I hope BW isn't the last we see of him.

@regularmovieguy - Me too. Put him in Thunderbolts or Masters of Evil.

@TheJustinHammer

I’m not saying it is, but to the GA it absolutely is a mystery. And they’ve know doubt been playing up the mystery behind him in the trailers.

Just type in “Taskmaster Black Widow mystery” in google in you’ll find all kinds of articles, speculation videos on Taskmaster in the movie.

- how can he mimic the Avengers?
- what’s up with his mask?
- there’s a handful of new characters in this movie, which one of them is Taskmaster?
- why aren’t they showing Taskmaster take off his mask?

I mean, they definitely want us asking these questions

@MCUKnight11 - Seems legit, Taskmaster hunting fascist rapists fleeing Gilead

You’re not wrong, just think Marvel Studios wants us asking that question.

The trailers are more Nat and her Russian super family centric. But they are definitely keeping a layer of mystery around Taskmaster.

Their marketing might go through a slow re-activation until we get more footage that doesn't also spoil anything. We did get their 2nd trailer two months before the original release date and one week later the world shut down for quarantine.

MCUKnight11
MCUKnight11 - 7/6/2020, 1:12 PM
@HeavyMetal4Life - Alright.
S Tier: Iron Man, Avengers, Winter soldier,GOTG, Civil War, Ragnarok, Black Panther, Infinity War, Endgame, and FFH.
A-Tier: First Avenger, Iron Man 3, Age of Ultron, Ant Man, Doctor Strange, Vol. 2, and Homecoming.
B-Tier: Hulk, Thor, Ant man and Wasp
C-tier: Iron man 2, Captain Marvel, and Dark world.
MCUKnight11
MCUKnight11 - 7/6/2020, 1:13 PM
@HeavyMetal4Life - That's my list. I honestly don't think they have done anything below a C. A D is BVS while Fant4stic is an F.
HeavyMetal4Life
HeavyMetal4Life - 7/6/2020, 1:24 PM
@MCUKnight11 - sweet, thanks for sharing! I'm sure you know I don't care for Iron Man 3, that's the only straight up "mediocre" movie Marvel has done imo. The other weaker links are still alright. They don't have any misfires as you said like BvS or Fant4stic (for me, those are both attrocious movies, they both are F's in my book).

For me:
Tier 1a: Infinity War, Endgame, Civil War, Winter Soldier, GOTG
Tier 1b: Black Panther, Thor:Ragnarok, Avengers, Iron Man.
A-Tier: Ant-Man, Age of Ultron, First Avenger, Doctor Strange, FFH
B-Tier: Ant man and Wasp, GOTG 2, Captain Marvel, Homecoming
C-tier: Incredible Hulk, Dark World, Iron man 2, Thor
D-tier: Iron Man 3

@HeavyMetal4Life - Glad you enjoyed it. I wish I could make you like Iron man 3 but I'm not going to try. It is what it is. In a year that makes me feel old, stay safe out there. It's crazy.
