Well, this is an unexpected surprise on a Saturday afternoon!

Marvel Studios has released a new trailer for Black Widow, and there's plenty of footage here we haven't seen before. Taskmaster gets a lot of attention, as we learn a little more about his relationship with Ray Winston's Dreykov and get to see him taking on Natasha Romanoff in a brutal fight.

A young Natasha is also highlighted, though her trademark red hair...well, it's nowhere to be seen. Clearly, Disney is committing to that dual theatrical/Disney+ release this July, and the marketing campaign is picking up again as a result. This is definitely welcomed, and the footage here is simply epic.

"In Marvel Studios’ action-packed spy thriller Black Widow, Natasha Romanoff aka Black Widow confronts the darker parts of her ledger when a dangerous conspiracy with ties to her past arises," reads the synopsis for the movie. "Pursued by a force that will stop at nothing to bring her down, Natasha must deal with her history as a spy and the broken relationships left in her wake long before she became an Avenger."

In the movie, Scarlett Johansson reprises her role as Natasha/Black Widow, Florence Pugh stars as Yelena, David Harbour portrays Alexei/The Red Guardian, and Rachel Weisz is Melina. Black Widow is directed by Cate Shortland and produced by Kevin Feige; Black Widow - the first big screen story in Phase 4 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe - arrives on July 9th.
