The Hollywood Reporter reveals that the third trailer for Black Widow scored more than 70 million views during its first 24 hours online. Why is that number so impressive? Well, the last teaser for the Marvel Studios movie racked up 57 million views, so this one generated a much bigger audience.

Godzilla vs. Kong vastly exceeded expectations at the box office and on HBO Max, with the primary reason for that believed to be the huge demand for blockbusters among frustrated moviegoers.

While WandaVision and The Falcon and The Winter Soldier have provided Marvel Cinematic Universe fans with something of a fix for Marvel Studios content on Disney+, the movie experience is something else entirely. Black Widow is the first Phase 4 film, and while it's set in the past, the expectation is that it will lay the groundwork for future stories (like Hawkeye and the Thunderbolts).

"In Marvel Studios’ action-packed spy thriller Black Widow, Natasha Romanoff aka Black Widow confronts the darker parts of her ledger when a dangerous conspiracy with ties to her past arises," reads the synopsis for the movie. "Pursued by a force that will stop at nothing to bring her down, Natasha must deal with her history as a spy and the broken relationships left in her wake long before she became an Avenger."

The new trailer featured plenty of action-packed footage, and excitement for Black Widow is definitely building. With a simultaneous theatrical and Disney+ release planned, it's going to be very interesting to see what Marvel Studios has in store for Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings and Eternals.

@Moriakum - It's just funny at this point seeing people predicting a miss from Marvel Studios. [frick]ing Ant-Man has a billion dollar franchise.

@WakandanQueen - The last 2 DCEU movies combined (I´m not counting WW1984´S BO for obvious reasons) made less money at the BO than Ant-Man and the Wasp alone. Let that sink in.

@Moriakum - I don't think thats true. (Prior to Covid) Several polls from major outlets like Fandango, Deadline, THR, Variety, etc. had Black Widow listed as the most anticipated film of 2020 (its original release year). It was either #1 or #2 at the polls and only lost to WW84 in other outlets.

The hype is still here and people are only waiting. Unlike Mulan or Raya, I think a lot of people are going to pay 30 USD for this film. If I were a betting person, I think Black Widow has a high chance of being the 1st USA film to gross 500 mil+ world wide this year.

@Waddles -

Black Widow is the female hero who I read consistently the most. Either it back issues or current.

If Kong can make it to $500 million...maybe Widow can make it to $1 billion

@ShellHead -
Nobody's making a billion this year. At least not at the box office.

@RageDriver2401 - they should’ve just released it last year on Disney+ but oh well. I’m still excited for it, it looks great

These views things keep getting out of hand, every week there’s a “highest viewed” thing now. Cruella was apparently the most viewed thing ever, before that Godzilla vs Kong, SnyderCut, then The Suicide Squad, then something else then something else... unreliable numbers. I say just count YouTube views.

@JohnCastillo - They need to choose their wording better
Mortal Kombat was the most viewed redband trailer of all time (beating out original trophy holder deadpool) and then apparently the suicide squad's trailer just beat that
Godzilla vs Kong was WB's most viewed trailer of all time and currently holds the 3rd most liked film trailer on youtube behind only the 2 most recent avengers movies.
And I'm pretty sure the snyder cut has no records to its name but feel free to prove me wrong.

EZBeast - 4/6/2021, 4:59 AM
@JohnCastillo - and I have no idea if cruella holds any records but on a quick glance it certainly doesn't look like it..

JohnCastillo - 4/6/2021, 5:24 AM
@TheFireForce - Yeah with SnyderCut I was just messing about lol, just seems like a new record is broken every week.. I remember articles saying how Cruella is one of the most viewed trailers then I check on YouTube and it’s nowhere near a “most viewed” thing, so I’m guessing it was just adding up every social media thing but I don’t know if it should work like that 😂 It’s getting to where a company should be disappointed if they don’t break view records from a trailer since everyone is getting them.

Loving what I've seen from the character dynamics and action. Seems to have a pretty unique style and visual flair as well. Taskmaster looks dope.
