@MalseMarcel - Why wouldn't a movie work?

As for the SHIELD element, I think it can work either way. I think stories like the Bourne Identity, some of the Mission Impossible movies, and even Captain America: TWS work well when an agent loses the support of their organization and are forced to survive and get the job done with their skill and resourcefulness alone. I would like to see Hawkeye in the movie so we could further define his character and explore that friendship, but I think it makes sense to put her in a situation in which she has a small crew of only the people she trusts most.

@MalseMarcel - At this point "solo" film is a pretty loose term within the MCU.

I don't think her having an ally or two means that it's not truly a Black Widow solo film.

@MalseMarcel - A series would be nice, but given the separation between Marvel Studios and Marvel television, it seems highly unlikely. Johansson and Renner are also actors who command pretty high salaries, so the production quality would probably need to be at a pretty high level to attract them.

@MNLawyer - I've never read A-Force, but I worry that the concept would seem forced on film. What situation would justify throwing all the female characters on a team together when their closest ties are not to each other? Instead, I'd prefer to see smaller, more natural team-ups. For example, Black Widow 2 could see her assemble a team up with the Wasp and form an unlikely partnership with Nakia when Wakanda sends her on a mission that brings her into contact with Natasha as they go after the same thing. Captain Marvel 2 could team Captain Marvel with fellow space adventurers like Gamora and Valkyrie.

A) Marvel Studios hasn't made any all-male ensembles.

B) It's a different situation when you're just starting with no foundation. An all-female Ghostbusters team or Ocean's crew makes just as much sense as their all-male counterparts. In any of these situations, these are the characters we're presented so we accept that they are the best people around/ the characters the protagonist has the strongest ties to. However, a Marvel team-up that cherry picks a bunch of unconnected women and throws them together just because sounds convoluted. We know there are other people available and we know that most of these female characters' strongest ties are not to each other. If Valkyrie needs help, the only people we've seen her work with before are Thor and Hulk, so she'd go to them over strangers like BW and Scarlet Witch. If Natasha needs someone she can rely on, her closest allies are Hawkeye and Captain America.

Like I said, smaller all female team-ups with characters who can come together naturally make much more sense than a movie with Gamora, Nebula, Mantis, Black Widow, Wasp, Scarlet Witch, Nakia, Okoye, Shuri, Valkyrie and Captain Marvel uniting just because. If you have a situation dire enough to require that much firepower and diversity of skillset, I don't think you're going to be gimmicky about who you call to help.
