WB should of treated this like Captain America: First Avenger and Thor


Instead The Rock made is sound like a Billion dollar grossing movie was guaranteed and that it would change the CBM game forever

Instead it's just another financial flop in a string of flops

Wonder Woman 84 , The Suicide Squad and now Black Adam

@WakandaTech - WW84 and TSS aren't flops. They were released straight to HBO Max at the same time as their theatrical releases. WW84 was released during the height of the pandemic too.

@WakandaTech - I wouldn’t consider The Suicide Squad a flop. That was a great movie that came out during a once in a lifetime pandemic. It also had a successful spin off TV series that’s beloved.

@RockReigns - they were both flops failing to make their budgets back. Yes they were released on hbo max which hurt them but they were still financially unsuccessful making them flops.

@RockReigns - Trust me, things wouldn't have been much different without the pandemic and HBO Max.

We know that Black Adam flopped. If they had given it an HBO Max release and there was a sudden outbreak of Ebola, you'd be saying the same about Black Adam. That those were the reasons for it flopping.

They're such convenient excuses, but WW84 was terrible and though TSS was an okay film, it was still a sequel to a film nobody liked set in a universe nobody liked that had a bunch of random superpowered characters with no explanations as to how or why they could possibly exist. Historically these kinds of movies have failed at the box office.

Captain America: The First Avenger
Production budget: $140 million
Worldwide gross: $370 million

The film would've been a flop if it wasn't for merchandise and DVD/Blu-ray sales. I think Black Adam may do the same.. but releasing it so early on digital despite still making almost $5 million at the weekend box office is questionable to say the least.

The film was entertaining. Was it an excellent film? No. Was it ever going to be a hit with critics? Highly unlikely. Was it necessary? No. Was it a good escape for 2 hours with fun action? Yes. Should it get a sequel? Only if Shazam and Superman are involved.

Yes, DC needs to figure things out but the hate for this movie seems to be unwarranted. Of course Dwayne Johnson is going to hype up his own movie. He always does that.

This article was just a hit piece on a movie we already know has flaws. Move on. Let’s just hope for better.

This was a fun movie.. I'm not a big Rock fan.. but overall thought the movie was far better than The Suicide Squad(gunn's) and WW84(pure garbage). It was a story told in a contained time frame and Amanda Waller having her fingers in it, means she is the connective tissue through several movies. This was a pre-new regime project. the question is now.. where do they go from here?
