BLACK PANTHER Wishes Everyone A Happy Chinese New Year On This Awesome New Poster
Forget the Year of the Dog because, after this weekend, it's going to be the Year of the Panther! With the Chinese New Year upon us, Marvel Studios has released a pretty cool new poster. Come check it out!
Black Panther is having quite the weekend, scoring over $75.8 million on Friday (including $25.2 million from Thursday previews) and is now on pace for a record-shattering $213 million four-day opening weekend, which, as Larry David would say, is pretty, pretty, pretty good.
While the Ryan Coogler-directed film is now out in almost every major domestic and international market, it still has a few more weeks to go before it makes its grand debut in China on March 9th. Its performance there will likely determine whether or not the latest Marvel blockbuster enters the billion-dollar club. Luckily, however, one thing that should bode well for the film's prospects is that the Middle Kingdom did recently crown Chadwick Boseman as the Most Popular U.S. Actor in China, so let's hope that leads to plenty of box office fortune for King T'Challa.
Check out the new "Chinese New Year" poster below:
Marvel Studios’ “Black Panther” follows T’Challa who, after the death of his father, the King of Wakanda, returns home to the isolated, technologically advanced African nation to succeed to the throne and take his rightful place as king. But when a powerful old enemy reappears, T’Challa’s mettle as king—and Black Panther—is tested when he is drawn into a formidable conflict that puts the fate of Wakanda and the entire world at risk. Faced with treachery and danger, the young king must rally his allies and release the full power of Black Panther to defeat his foes and secure the safety of his people and their way of life.
