Sebastian Stan has become a recurring presence in the Marvel Cinematic Universe since making his debut in 2011's Captain America: The First Avenger, most recently appearing in The Falcon and The Winter Soldier on Disney+. As you'll no doubt recall, Black Panther also featured the character in a post-credits scene set in Wakanda.

In the stinger, we learned that Bucky Barnes had become the "White Wolf," living a peaceful life in T'Challa's home nation before being enlisted to join the fight coming to Earth in Avengers: Infinity War.

Esquire recently caught up with Stan and presented a statement to him that read, "Sebastian learned he was going to be in Black Panther while standing at baggage claim with Kevin Feige after a flight, where Feige offhandedly mentioned it." To that, the actor replied, "Completely true! I think it was like on the set of Civil War and he goes, 'Oh yeah, by the way, you know we're going to have you come in early next week. You know, you're going to do this scene with Ryan Coogler.'"

Stan also briefly commented on the secrecy surrounding his MCU role, pointing out that it often makes the way he learns about future roles similarly unique. "It's always been like that by the way. It's always been offhanded," he explained. "Even getting the role back in the day was sort of offhanded."

Right now, there's no word on when or where Stan will return as Bucky, but Captain America 4 seems like a safe bet. He could easily make a couple of surprise cameos before then, though with so many TV shows and movies on the way from Marvel Studios, we couldn't begin to guess the project!
