Amazon Prime has released a new trailer for Coming 2 America, which is set to premiere on the streaming service on March 5.
A follow-up to John Landis' 1988 comedy (by no means a classic, but it has its moments), the sequel sees Eddie Murphy reprise the role of Prince King Akeem, who returns to America when he discovers that he had a son (Jermaine Fowler) after a one-night stand with Mary (Leslie Jones) over 20 years ago.
There's some funny stuff in here, and Marvel fans should get a kick out of the mention of Black Panther's Kingdom of Wakanda.
We recently learned that a Disney+ series focusing on T'Challa's homeland is in development, with Black Panther 2 co-writer/director Ryan Coogler on board. Details are scarce, but we should have a bit more to go on soon.
Coming 2 America will once again see Murphy and costar Arsenio Hall play multiple roles (the barbershop banter was a highlight of the first movie), with Shari Headley, John Amos and the great James Earl Jones also set to return.
Wesley Snipes (Blade, Demolition Man) is on board as the villain.
What do you guys think? Do you plan on checking out Coming 2 America next month?
