CAPTAIN AMERICA: BRAVE NEW WORLD Set Photos Showcase Anthony Mackie In His Classic Suit

A fresh batch of Captain America: Brave New World set photos have surfaced online, offering an awesome new look at Anthony Mackie in his classic white-and-blue suit from The Falcon and the Winter Soldier!

With reshoots ongoing on Marvel Studios' Captain America: Brave New World, a ton of new set photos have been surfacing online over the past few days and the latest batch reveals star Anthony Mackie ("Sam Wilson/Captain America") suited up in his classic white-and-blue suit from The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, essentially reaffirming that he'll be sporting multiple looks in the eagerly-awaited Marvel blockbuster.

As per a recent report, the additional photography isn't expected to be particularly extensive, and should conclude within another week or two. New action sequences were expected to be added, so based on what we're seeing in these photos, it looks like they might be shooting a new opening for the film, where Mackie sports his first Captain America suit.

He'll also wear a wingless blue-and-red suit in the film, something not too dissimilar from Steve Rogers' stealth suit, but it's not yet clear what brings on the change in attire.

Plot details remain under lock-and-key for the time being, but the movie is being described as a political action thriller in the same vein as Captain America: The Winter Soldier, with Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige dubbing it a “relatively grounded action film.”

In addition to Mackie, the cast features Danny Ramirez ("Joaquin Torres/Falcon"), Carl Lumbly ("Isaiah Bradley"), Tim Blake Nelson ("Samuel Sterns/Leader"), Shira Haas ("Ruth/Sabra"), Academy Award-nominee Harrison Ford ("Thaddeus 'Thunderbolt' Ross"), Liv Tyler ("Betty Ross"), Xosha Roquemore, Seth Rollins, Rosa Salazar, and 5x Primetime Emmy-nominee Giancarlo Esposito.

Julius Onah (LuceThe Cloverfield Paradox; The Girl is in Trouble) is directing the feature with a screenplay from Malcolm Spellman (The Falcon and the Winter Soldier; Empire; Bel-Air) and Dalan Musson (The Falcon and the Winter Soldier; Iron Sky: The Coming Race; See What I'm Saying: The Deaf Entertainers Documentary), with Matthew Orton (Moon KnightDevil's Peak; Operation Finale) having also contributed to the new material currently being filmed in Atlanta.

Captain America: Brave New World is part of Phase Five in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Ahead of its launch, we'll see Deadpool & Wolverine next month, Agatha All Along in September, Eyes of WakandaYour Friendly Neighborhood Spider-ManDaredevil: Born Again, Ironheart, and Thunderbolts

Which will have a better BO? D&W or the Minions movie?

kazuma - 6/3/2024, 9:44 PM
@vectorsigma - I think Deadpool will win because of the Wolverine hype and because I don't think the minions have the same draw factor as they did before.

@vectorsigma - D&W will do great but it has the r rating there’s no way except if Minions turns out really really bad

@vectorsigma - Who benefits from and gets the Imax and other Premium screens ? There's your winner.
(My guess is D&W)

@vectorsigma - illumination is really racking in the big bucks lately. I honestly don't even think it's fair.

@vectorsigma - Probably not. That said I wouldn't think DM would bring in much premium screen business anyway but that's a pure SWAG on my part.

@Origame - ill just be waiting for the $1B and "will beat Joker" comments get converted to "it didnt make it because it is R"

@Feralwookiee - With the concept of Variants and after Sylvie, that doesn't even look that far fetched and would just come down to finding the right actress.

@Batmangina - kinda what I expected too, until I actually looked at the pictures in the article. "Classic" means different things I guess

"as per a recent report, the additional photography isn't expected to be particularly extensive"

Uh since when? All reports stated the reshoots were extensive because the action literally sucked.

@McMurdo - because it's only 22 days? And first time I'm here about the action
Origame

@McMurdo - yeah. They're specifically added because poor test screenings, and the more recent ones added the new villain that's apparently a big deal, but nope. Not extensive at all 🙄

@THEDARKKNIGHT1939 - and I guess it's happening on screen when he decides "no, I'd rather look more like Steve cap and lose more of my identity"

Damn , that suit looks good!!.

It seems like they got rid of the cowl piece with just the goggles now which does make it seem a bit off to me overall but I couid get used to it so we’ll see…

I do hope we see this suit in more of the film rather then just one sequence or so , I’m cool with the new one but I like this one better tbh!!.

Anyway , I like Sam so looking forward to the film regardless!!.

"Classic" my ass, shit looked goofy as hell in the show and that was during the night which is usually meant to help hide how ridiculous it looks.

Yesssssss

That suit was so fresh

I want this movie to be good. If it hits that Russo Bros Cap tone like FAWS did but with improved writing I’ll be very happy. Hopefully the improved action scenes clear.

@DanFlashesShirt - improved writing LOL. Malcom Spellman the showrunner of that show wrote this movie. Hate to be the bearer of bad news...

Also I came here to say that I got new TV recently and re-watched Eternals on IMAX version. Wow, was that movie over-hated.

I agree the main Deviant becoming smarter was an unnecessary plot-line and the movie would have been much better off removing that part of the Deviant’s role in the story. Outside of that, it’s the most beautifully shot MCU film, the most epic in terms of scope, great cast, score was solid, and the Eternals story themselves was interesting.

🗣️That movie was GOOD, not top tier Marvel, but still good.

DanFlashesShirt - 6/3/2024, 9:58 PM
@DanFlashesShirt - oh and the FX and action were also some of the MCU’s best
TheVisionary25
TheVisionary25 - 6/3/2024, 10:01 PM
@DanFlashesShirt - I haven’t seen that in awhike but I thought it was decent honestly

I still think it might have worked better as a show but I guess some of the scope might have to have been sacrificed for that

Regardless , I do hope we follow up with those characters again.

@DanFlashesShirt - always felt a shame to me the hate that movie got. I feel the same way about Prometheus
DanFlashesShirt
DanFlashesShirt - 6/3/2024, 11:16 PM
@TheVisionary25 - it was a lot of characters to introduce, but thought she balanced it very well. I think cutting out the screen time devoted to the Deviant evolving could have been better spent fleshing out the characters more. I felt like mostly everyone had their moment though.

Agreed though the scale would have bern lost on a show.

@Vigor - Prometheus and eternals in the same breath is fairly accurate
bkmeijer1
bkmeijer1 - 6/4/2024, 2:18 AM
@DanFlashesShirt - I think the movie would've flowed much better with removing all the flashbacks except for the final one woth Ikaris and Ajak.

Those flashbacks just stood in contrast to the present day scenes (like Hephaestus vowing to leave humanity in one scene, and then having a family on the next) or provided information we already got in the present.
DanFlashesShirt
DanFlashesShirt - 6/4/2024, 11:59 AM
@McMurdo - there’s no cope, i enjoyed the movie and can confidently say it will age well
DanFlashesShirt
DanFlashesShirt - 6/4/2024, 7:42 PM
@bkmeijer1 - eh, you need those though. The interesting thing about these characters is that they’re 5000yo or whatever. You have to show things from along the way.
