Many of these individuals are fleeing extreme violence, war, corruption, and situations worsened by global inequalities and power dynamics. These aren’t criminals or invaders—they are families, children, and individuals who have been forced to make impossible decisions in the face of dire circumstances. They are not bringing violence; they are escaping it. There is no evidence to support the myth that immigrants, whether documented or not, commit more violent crimes than native populations. In fact, studies have shown that immigrants are generally less likely to engage in criminal activity.

The rhetoric of “invasion” is nothing more than fearmongering. Migration is a natural part of human history and a necessary response to crises caused by war, poverty, and environmental disasters. People do not leave their homes unless they have no other option. To call this an invasion ignores the root causes of why people are fleeing their countries in the first place.
