Rumored New Details About CAPTAIN AMERICA: BRAVE NEW WORLD, ECHO, And IRONHEART's Reshoots Emerge

Big changes are coming to the Marvel Cinematic Universe and we now have some rumoured updates about plans for Captain America: Brave New World, Echo, and Ironheart's reshoots. Possible spoilers follow...

After a rocky couple of years, Marvel Studios is setting out to put the MCU back on the right track. That's included going back to the drawing board with Daredevil: Born Again and delaying several titles to ensure they arrive with finished visual effects and stories which don't underwhelm fans.

Today, scooper Daniel Richtman has shared an update on where things stand with some of those movies and TV shows, including Captain America: Brave New World.

He says the action scenes are indeed the main thing they're changing for The Falcon and The Winter Soldier follow-up, but there are issues with the second act as well. The plan is to make the movie flow better as some scenes were dragging, hence why Moon Knight writer Matthew Orton has been hired for rewrites.

We also have an update on Ironheart. The Disney+ series finished shooting last year but we've heard nothing concrete since. There's been speculation about the visual effects work slowing things down and rumours Marvel Studios wants to release it in closer proximity to Armor Wars

Well, Richtman believes more reshoots are needed, a sign perhaps that it's yet another MCU project which needs saving.

As for Echo, you'll recall that we recently told you about plans for the series to end with Maya Lopez setting up a P.I. agency in New York City where she's then enlisted by Daredevil to take down The Kingpin. Later, we heard about a possible change and the leaker claims that's down to Maya no longer being a lock for Daredevil: Born Again. We will, however, get a tease for Wilson Fisk's planned Mayoral campaign.

Finally, there are some tidbits on the next Avengers movie too.

"The idea is to include Kang in some capacity in Avengers 5. The plan is to start shooting in 2024, now specifically late 2024," Richtman states. "They are searching for a director and one should be announced in the coming months. The first Avengers movie will have a more limited amount of Avengers."

We'll see what happens but as frustrating as these delays are for fans, it's good to know Marvel Studios is taking steps to ensure these stories are as good as they possibly can be.

"The pace at which we’re putting out the Disney+ shows will change so they can each get a chance to shine," Feige said earlier this year, laying the groundwork for what's proven to be a significant overhaul with how the MCU's output is handled. It's just a shame it was too late for Secret Invasion and The Marvels!
