A part of MTV's many interview segments from the San Diego Comic-Con, the star of Marvel's much anticipated Captain America: The First Avenger, Chris Evans, speaks lightly on the body suits that make everything fill out in costume, and the training he had to undergo.

"Yeah, absolutely. I'd been in the gym for a bit. It was tricky, I was working on another project prior to this. So there was a limit to how big I could get, because obviously I can't morph—"

"Yes, and special body suits that make us look really [good]," interjected his "Captain America" co-star, Hugo Weaving.

"That's where I was going," continued Evans. "We do have fantastic bodysuits and I'm wearing mine right now," he added jokingly.

"The have these really great body suits that make everything fill out in all the right places," explained Evans. "I've got skinny legs."

DCMF - I am glad they're giving Evans a body suit. In "The Avengers," I've always pictured Cap & Thor as bulked, more than Iron Man's armor. And I honestly wish they would have done the same for Chris Hemsworth, because though he's buff, it looks odd with his skinny legs. But suppose things can change for The Avengers.

Anyhow currently filming in the UK, Captain America hits theaters July 22, 2011 in 3D!

Much appreciated Josh!

I am not surprised they gave him a body suit, nor am I opposed to Cap looking a little bulky.

One of his powers is peak human strength. That means he should be able to dead lift over 900 lbs.

he doesn't have to LOOK like he could do that, but SOME bulk would be just fine.
JoshWilding
JoshWilding - 8/6/2010, 4:24 PM
PETE: Haha, tell me this - color, flavor, rumor, mom...where are the U's!?! :P It's colour, flavour, rumour and mum! I guess the small things that are different between our two countries are pretty bizarre when you think about it!

So, what other UK TV shows do you watch? My knowledge of the US pretty much comes from reading books, comics, this site and watching US TV shows and movies! (which are all pretty much 100x better than our stuff IMO - we have nothing that can compare with shows like Dexter, Lost or Supernatural to name a few!)

He could be a bit bigger, sure, but Cap is also an "Olympic-level" gymnast, and those guys aren't huge.

Point being, we really can't hold a real person to comic book standards. By their nature, comic characters are fantastical and in no way meant to represent actual human capabilities. Except for roided-out wrestlers, and God knows we don't want them anywhere near CBMs. ;P

@joshw & tea—we banished the "u"s to canada where they belong! ;) jk actually some pretentious people still use them... along with "theatre," "grey," etc. the real confusion is when we have totally different definitions for shared words, like biscuit, chips, and—to a lesser extent—flat & lift. and, of course, shag & bugger!

not much british tv has made it over in a while. we do get the mighty boosh late at night. and some of us won't watch any news besides bbc world edition...

I agree with teabag. To me it sounds like he's kidding. Look at him. He's not bulky but you can see he's built under that shirt. I think Weaving's costume might have a little padding to fill him out, but Evans probably just has a battlesuit bulk like Batman costumes.

JOSH- I just got into Doctor Who..I also watch SKINS..
I started from the first season..only half way
through..but it's "BRILIANT!" LOL..and the girls
in that show are HOT! Also Robin Hood and Merlin!

For some reason we don't use the "U's"..I live here
and even I don't know!..

What AMERICA hows do you watch?..Have you seen
"The Big Bang Theory"?..That is a MUST WATCH!
Start from season 1 if you can..so far there is only
3 seasons (going on 4)..It's NERD show to say
the least!

TEA- LMAO! Now that's FUNNY!

@tea —yes we do... and of course we get dr who and mi-5. plus we get all of those attenborough-style nature shows like earth, life, and my favorite, blue planet. i'm only in nyc a few times a year now so i might not get everything everyone else does. tonight there seems to be a special called "my big breasts and me"... sounds promising ;)

and sorry, i never wear trousers OR pants when i'm on this site—makes it easier when you post all those page 3 pics.

AlternateNo4: Yeah, the different words can be confusing at times! As tea hilariously pointed out, "pants" and "trousers" is a perfect example! And I've gotta ask - what is it with the whole America/Canada thing? They're always making fun of Canadians in How I Met Your Mother and I have no idea why, lol!

mattMardock: Thanks for the heads up! I've just deleted the worst of the idiots comments!

PETE: Well, a lot of my favourite shows came to an end earlier this year (24, Lost, Scrubs, FlashForward) and I of course love the likes of The Sopranos and The Shield but the current ones I watch are...Dexter, Chuck, House, How I Met Your Mother, Bones, Lie To Me, Supernatural, Smallville and more! I've seen a few episodes of The Big Bang Theory but the actors in it just irritated me to be honest, lol! :P

JOSH- OH MAN! THE SHIELD is EPIC!! What season
are you in? season 3 and 4 are MY favorite!
That right we taked about CHUCK before!

Are the BRITISH shows I watch, considered STUPID
over there?

The whole CANADIAN thing is just a JOKE!
Everyone say's all they know up there is
HOCKEY! I have been there and it's GREAT!
To tell you the truth..I HAVE NO IDEA WHY
WE(america)MAKES FUN OF CANADA?!..But it sure
is FUNNY!..I bet You'r Country and all the rest
make fun of the U.S! Right? or do just us
americans make fun of everyone?!

TEA- When does that come out? also I noticed british
TV shows alot more "skin" than most shows in the U.S
also there aloud to say "shit". Only certain channels
are allowed to say that in the U.S and only after 10pm!

Sure we have HBO and SKINEMAX(cinemax) but we gotta
pay extra for that!
JoshWilding
JoshWilding - 8/6/2010, 6:11 PM
You know, it looks like you guys in the US dont have as much access to our stuff as we do to yours which is a real pity as you're missing out on the likes of the lovely Sophie Howard...

Google her name along with the word "topless" and I guarantee you'll go to bed happy! ;D

PETE: I finished The Shield a month or two ago - EPIC! The only fault I have with it is that they left it far too late to develop Ronnie...he ended up being one of the most interesting characters but spend 2 or 3 seasons as a glorified extra! You have a pretty awesome taste in TV shows actually! If you can find it, I'd highly recommend the first two seasons of Torchwood and classic comedies like Fawlty Towers, Only Fools And Horses and Dad's Army. Oldies but goodies. :P And yeah, we just take the piss out of EVERYONE.

Talking of Skins, dont forget...

Kathryn Prescott for Pixie!!!

@Starsapphire

Yes, Evans is dead sexy.
I've got no issues with the body suit. Apparently, that's standard procedure in a lot of cases. Tobey Maquire apparently wore one too.

JOSH- LOL! Sophie Howard I am googling right now...
OH..MY..GOD! Those are AMAZING!! What is she
a porn star of something?

AGREED! Ronnie was a great character who fell
victiam to the "backround character".

You know I was going to start watching TOURCHWOOD
but never got around to it.

speaking of SKINS..Kaya Scodelario is HOT!

TEA- THAT'S WHAT I THOUGHT! I knew you brits had
some good ol' humor!

TEKKEN! LMAO! That what happens when us AMERICANS
get ahold of a JAPAN videogame..and turn it into
a movie..Same with Dragon Ball Z! We always ruin
a good thing!

That would be funny if all the UK shows I watched
were considered "chick" shows over there!
