According to Box Office Mojo, Marvel's Captain America The Winter Soldier has now earned $250,627,000 domestically and $452,800,000 and  now sits comfortably at $703,427,000 worldwide  after making an estimated  $3,759,000 this weeked. It has surpassed Thor: The Dark World's $644 million making it the 3rd highest grossing film in the ever growing Marvel Cinematic Universe after Iron Man 3 and The Avengers. The film has almost doubled Captain America: The First Avenger's worldwide gross which was the second lowest grossing MCU film after The Incredible Hulk. Cap 3 is now slated for a May 6th, 2016 release date and scheduled to go head to head with WB's Batman vs Superman. With Captain America: The Winter Soldier making this much, who will blink first? We'll see. What do you guys think?

After the cataclysmic events in New York with The Avengers, “Captain America: The Winter Soldier” finds Steve Rogers, aka Captain America, living quietly in Washington, D.C. and trying to adjust to the modern world. But when a S.H.I.E.L.D. colleague comes under attack, Steve becomes embroiled in a web of intrigue that threatens to put the world at risk. Joining forces with the Black Widow, Captain America struggles to expose the ever-widening conspiracy while fighting off professional assassins sent to silence him at every turn. When the full scope of the villainous plot is revealed, Captain America and the Black Widow enlist the help of a new ally, the Falcon. However, they soon find themselves up against an unexpected and formidable enemy — the Winter Soldier. Starring Chris Evans, Scarlett Johansson, Sebastian Stan, Anthony Mackie, Cobie Smulders, Frank Grillo, Georges St-Pierre, Hayley Atwell, Toby Jones, Emily VanCamp and Maximiliano Hernández with Samuel L. Jackson and Robert Redford, “Captain America: The Winter Soldier” is directed by the team of Anthony & Joe Russo from a screenplay written by Christopher Markus & Stephen McFeely and is based on the ever-popular Marvel comic book series, first published in 1941. Marvel Studios’ President Kevin Feige is producing the film. Executive producers on the project include Alan Fine, Louis D’Esposito, Victoria Alonso, Michael Grillo and Stan Lee. The creative production team on the film includes director of photography Trent Opaloch, production designer Peter Wenham, editors Jeffrey Ford, A.C.E. and Mary Jo Markey, A.C.E. and three time Oscar®-nominated costume designer Judianna Makovsky. “Captain America: The Winter Soldier” is set for release on April 4, 2014.

Oh look that one guy who can't stop talking about IM3. Great news nonetheless, deserves every cent it makes. Bring on Cap 3;)

It was their 3rd highest grossing a few weeks ago. Like you said, T:TDW made $644 million, CA:TWS is at $703 million. It didn't reach that over the weekend...

Deserves every penny and this flick proves that you don't need to integrate forced jokes to sell.

Cough * IronMan 3 & Thor 2 * Cough

I hope Marvel will learn their lesson from this movie.

I'm fine with The Avengers and Iron Man 3 and potentially TASM 2 making more money than TWS, because money is never the sole indicator of how good or bad a movie is. All that matters is if it's good enough to avoid being a critical or commercial flop, enough people see the movie to spark renewed interest in the character, and that it makes enough of a profit to guarantee a sequel. Anything else is just the cherry on top.

@McN Actually, it should probably say "Marvel Studio's" instead of "Marvel's" to be more specific, but since it is still the 3rd highest grossing Marvel film in general, guess it doesn't make a difference lol.

And no worries, Cap 3 will surpass Iron Man 3, that's for sure. Cap 2 outgrossed IM2, and with the Russo's coming back for Cap 3, its almost a guaranteed success.

All cap's fight scenes in this movie were beautifully done.

I can not say the same with his fight scenes in CAP: TFA and The Avengers.

Glad they went with the "Bourne-ish" type of fight choreography.

@McNyagano Just a heads up bud, but Cap 2 has been Marvel's 3rd highest grossing film since last month. Changing the headline works:-)
