More From Stan Lee On His Captain America Cameo!

The legendary comic book creator talks a little more about his past cameos in Marvel movies as well as his plans to demand a role in the upcoming Captain America: The First Avenger...

"I still haven't done the 'Captain America' cameo," Lee told MTV News in a recent interview at the New York Comic Con last weekend. "They're shooting it in England, but they've sort of hinted that they may shoot some scenes here in the United States. If so, I'll be banging on the door saying, 'Where's my cameo?'"

"The funny thing is, I don't usually play people from the show except when I was Willie Lumpkin in 'Fantastic Four,' and I was somebody else in one of the other cameos."

"Usually I'm some stranger who has nothing to do with the show!"

"I might just be a face in the crowd," he added, "but certainly a memorable face that I hope the camera will linger on for a second or two!"

I'm with Robert Garlen. He didn't creat him so it's not really necessary to throw him in. I'm fine with it if he is, since his impact on Marvel was so monumental and he did write for Cap. If he wants to be in, than just let him in.

He may not have created Captain America, but Stan Lee is responsible for reintroducing him back in the 1960's with one of comics' most iconic moments IMO. :)

I have an original color hand drawn sketch signed by Joe Simon, the creator of Captain America. I love Stan Lee and all the wonderful comic book heroes he brought us, but we should give Mr. Simon his due. Just saying.

oh stan lee you crazy senile old fool, you are like the old grandfather that tells the mad stories which everybody listens to, smiling while nodding thinking, you crazy old fool

How we love you Stan!

These Stan Lee articles are always pointless (no offence Josh, your articles are always great) but I love reading them anyway

@Niprock

no he didnt, mostly because the movie is terribly bad. The only cameo was Ben Affleck on a deleted scene and at that point I threw the DVD out the window lol

@Niprock and @dancingmonkey08, he didn't have a cameo because Frank Miller created Elektra not Stan Lee. its a shame because she was so bad ass in the comics....oh well

Joe Simon gets my vote. He's one of the few golden age creators still with us and he is primarily responsible for Captain America. Somehow, somewhere they need to give him a great big tip of the hat. Far more deserving than Stan Lee.
