Brie Larson Describes CAPTAIN MARVEL As A Bridge Between Two Worlds; Teases Her Look

It's taken a while, but Marvel is finally preparing to introduce Carol Danvers to the Marvel Cinematic Universe in 2019's Captain Marvel - although, while it hasn't been officially confirmed by the studio, there is a good possibility that she'll be making her big-screen debut a little earlier in the currently filming Avengers: Infinity War.

Her upcoming solo feature, which will be headlined by Academy Award-winning actress Brie Larson, doesn't have a director attached and if recent reports are to be believed, Marvel may not be in such a rush to find someone just yet as they work out the final kinks in the film's script - which, last we heard, is being penned by Nicole Perlman (Guardians of the Galaxy) & Meg LaFauve (The Good Dinosaur).

Regardless, Larson has already started her extensive preparation for the role and on the recent press tour for her next release, Kong: Skull Island, she shared a few passionate thoughts with IGN about how the character has left a lasting impression on her in a relatively short amount of time, and what it now means to her to be able to play this hero for a whole new generation of young girls: “I find it's really hard for me to condense what she means to me. I was once a young girl and I was confused by what a hero was and what I wanted to be when I grow up and what was important to me. And so, I think it's so complicated growing up and to attempt to become a symbol of truth and navigating through all the weird questions of growing up feels so, I’m getting emotional just talking about this, it feels so important to me. When it comes to her, I mean just the fact that she can be a bridge between two worlds, that she can go between Earth and space and that her own personal place is in this little area between where Earth ends and space begins and that’s only hers is so moving to me. I’m just inspired.”

As for her character's look, Larson wasn't at liberty to say much but did go on to admit that while she'll probably sport something comic-accurate, Danvers' appearnce won't be able to please everyone: “I can’t say anything… I feel like this is a big conversation and every day I have people yelling at me on Twitter like you better have long hair, or you better have a mohawk, or you better wear the helmet, or you better not wear the helmet, so someone’s going to be mad.”
