CAPTAIN MARVEL 2 Adds Ms. Marvel, Christian Bale's THOR: LOVE AND THUNDER Villain Revealed, And More

We have some huge new to share with you from the Marvel Studios portion of Disney's Investor Day, including Ant-Man 3's title, Christian Bale's Thor: Love and Thunder role, and a Captain Marvel 2 update.

2020 may be the first year without any new Marvel Studios content, but they weren't playing around during Disney's Investor Day when it comes to upcoming projects.

For starters, it's been confirmed that Nia DaCosta is indeed directing Captain Marvel 2, while Brie Larson's Carol Danvers will be joined in the sequel by Iman Vellani's Ms. Marvel (following her small screen debut on Disney+).  That's not surprising, but the news is still welcomed, as is the addition of Teyonah Parris's Monica Rambeau. She's also set to make her debut on television via WandaVision

The big Thor: Love and Thunder reveal is that The Dark Knight star Christian Bale is playing Gorr the God Butcher in that movie. While we were all convinced he'd be taking on the role of Dario Agger/Minotaur, that villain feels like a better fit for an adventure which is set to introduce the Mighty Thor.

Ant-Man 3, meanwhile, has a title: Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. As expected, Jonathan Majors is playing Kang the Conqueror, but the big surprise is that Cassie Lang has been recast, with Detective Pikachu star Kathryn Newton now playing the character.

Blade remains in development, while there was no mention of Black Widow heading straight to Disney+.
