We've been waiting four years for the Captain Marvel sequel, and when The Marvels is released in theaters this November, Carol Danvers will be joined by Ms. Marvel and Photon.

Thanks to Total Film, we now have two new stills from the movie putting the spotlight on Brie Larson's Captain Marvel and Zawe Ashton's Dar-Benn. The Kree warrior is the movie's big bad, and executive producer Mary Livanos has shed new light on what fans can expect from the character.

"Dar-Benn represents a new era of the Kree Empire after a cataclysmic encounter with Captain Marvel in the past," she explains. "So, from the ashes of the Kree Empire, Dar-Benn rose."

Secret Invasion seemingly brought an end to both the Skrull invasion of Earth and their conflict with the Kree. However, there's likely still a lot of resentment from the Kree when it comes to Carol's role in their downfall and the fallout from her battle with the Supreme Intelligence. With that in mind, Dar-Benn is likely out for revenge.

Check out these new stills from The Marvels below.

In The Marvels, Carol Danvers aka Captain Marvel has reclaimed her identity from the tyrannical Kree and taken revenge on the Supreme Intelligence. But unintended consequences see Carol shouldering the burden of a destabilized universe.

When her duties send her to an anomalous wormhole linked to a Kree revolutionary, her powers become entangled with that of Jersey City super-fan Kamala Khan, aka Ms. Marvel, and Carol’s estranged niece, now S.A.B.E.R. astronaut Captain Monica Rambeau. Together, this unlikely trio must team up and learn to work in concert to save the universe as "The Marvels."

The movie stars Brie Larson, Teyonah Parris, Iman Vellani, Samuel L. Jackson, Zawe Ashton and Park Seo-joon.

The Marvels is currently set to arrive in theaters on November 10.

Dar-Benn... there was really no more prominent villain ot use? Why not someone like Korvac?

@Urubrodi - Korvac was rumoured to be in the sequel, but I guess you can't have a powerful male character with a trio of female leads.

But they could have picked Death bird instead of changing a male character female.

@Urubrodi - i feel the sameway. i cant wait to see the marvels in action but i honestly think they should have went the more epic route of Moon Stone or Deathbird. Deathbird could have been epic and introducing the shiar to the MCU. also making the xmen wait less excruciating as we see their world starting to emerge in the MCU. i hope they Bar Denn some cool shit other than just being a setup for a beatdown at the end by the trio who finally work as a team. that would be just deflating and could have been a D plus show.

@supermanrex - It is bad, people only went to see it because of Avengers:Infinity War and Avengers:Endgame.

You know when people actually cared about keeping up with the MCU.

Marvel Studios "The Marvels" needs to be great just to make all the angry men angry.

Urubrodi
Urubrodi - 8/11/2023, 11:33 AM
@AllsGood - Having 3 female leads is not a problem, the fact that the characters (in the MCU) are not that interesting to lead a movie is. For example, Kate Bishop is more interesting and charismatic than the 3 of them combined. But who knows, maybe they will improve in this one.

@Urubrodi - The first Captain Marvel was a hit with the general audience but made men very angry.

@AllsGood - I'm well aware how well it did as well as I'm aware that was released right before Endgame and people didn't really know much about the character at that point, just that it was another potential hit by Marvel. Back then they were more hit then miss. Plus, I also know women that are not huge fans of the character.

@AllsGood - You just proved my point, that is a movie with a good script and likeable character.
