After it premiered on Good Morning America earlier today, Marvel Studios has just released the first trailer for The Marvels.
It's now confirmed that this trio using their powers causes them to swap places, and that leads to a lot of wacky hijinks. Along the way, we catch up with Goose and see that Nick Fury clearly survives the events of this June's Secret Invasion TV series!
In fact, he's established an orbital base above Earth called the S.A.B.E.R. Space Station that looks an awful lot like S.W.O.R.D.'s Peak from the comic books. With that organisation confirmed to be somewhat sinister in nature after WandaVision, we're guessing this is the MCU's replacement!
We'll have a full breakdown of that and all the biggest moments from The Marvels trailer for you later today, but everything we see in this sneak peek points to the Captain Marvel sequel being a total blast.
In The Marvels, Carol Danvers aka Captain Marvel has reclaimed her identity from the tyrannical Kree and taken revenge on the Supreme Intelligence. But unintended consequences see Carol shouldering the burden of a destabilized universe.
When her duties send her to an anomalous wormhole linked to a Kree revolutionary, her powers become entangled with that of Jersey City super-fan Kamala Khan, aka Ms. Marvel, and Carol’s estranged niece, now S.A.B.E.R. astronaut Captain Monica Rambeau.
Together, this unlikely trio must team up and learn to work in concert to save the universe as "The Marvels."
The movie stars Brie Larson, Teyonah Parris, Iman Vellani, Samuel L. Jackson, Zawe Ashton and Park Seo-joon.
Nia DaCosta directs, and Kevin Feige is the producer. Louis D’Esposito, Victoria Alonso, Mary Livanos and Matthew Jenkins serve as executive producers. The screenplay is by Megan McDonnell, Nia DaCosta, Elissa Karasik and Zeb Wells.
The Marvels arrives in theaters on November 10.
